Why girls today dress like sluts?

And these jean string- shorts (!) and the non-existent skirt dresses teen girls wear today... omg.. what pervert even started this... "fashion"... ?
- Anonymous+1 yHere's an outrageous idea: How about we let people do what they want with their own bodies?
How does what some random girl wears, whom you may never even see again, affect you in any meaningful way? If you don't like it, then look away. It really is just that simple!
Thing is, men walk around shirtless in the summer. So should we scandalize them too? Or is it only women who get to be scandalized? To me that is a double-standard. Yes, many women find men's abs sexy, so how is that not the same as a woman walking around in a bikini?
Oh wait, are breasts too sexy? Why don't we stop sexualizing them then. I mean they have a real purpose, to feed babies. The only reason they are considered sexy is because we have objectified them.
Plus it's summer time. Should we all just wear snowsuits in the middle of the summer to appease the few people who are offended? Is not being offended by watching people walk around in summer clothes more important than people's own comfort?
I didn't realize a few people's ideas and opinions were more important than people's autonomy over their own bodies. Is this still revelant?- Asker+1 y
i dont like your sarcastic tone and your "arguments" where well expected and mentioned in the description.
i agree with the whole objectification thing though. BUT this still is not an excuse for us to walk around like cheap and needy prostitutes.
as for the heat, there are wonderful, light summer clothes to cover that need without losing any of your class and modesty.
- You need to just chill and worry about yourself instead of what other people are doing in their own lives that have zero impact on yours. You dress how you want to and let them dress how they want to. I do not see how women dress today is any business of yours. If you have a daughter, then take it up with her, otherwise it isn't any of your concern. If you or anyone else can't keep it in your pants and control yourself at the site of a woman who is wearing what you consider questionable, then that's your problem. Is this still revelant?
- Asker+1 y
i'm not attracted by women. your point is invalid. why not respect other people's values, cultures, religions etc? i might be an agnostic but i can understand their discomfort with the whole thing. and not only of those people, these clothes are really questionable in the sense of aesthetics and humanity. thats really how we developed as a civilization? plus how do you know it doesn't affect me? if it makes some guys into horndogs and then they attack me to rape me does that not affect my life? how can you say that?
you are being a HUGE hypocrite. you are not respecting people's choices. People can dress how they want without you butting into their business. Your "ethics" or "morals" are not any more important than other people's. I don't know where you live, but I don't live in a dictatorship and you have no business shaming people for how they want to dress. It has absolutely zero to do with you, mind your own business. Would you like people getting in your business that have nothing to do with you? i doubt it, so don't do it to other people. It's extremely disrespectful.
And what you said at the end of how it makes guys into "horndogs" and they can attack and rape you because of what you wear? Is possibly the dumbest thing i have ever read in my entire life. You must have absolutely ZERO respect for men to make that asinine statement. To say that a guy suddenly becomes a criminal at the moment he sees how a woman is dressed? are you even for real or are you just trolling?- Asker+1 y
it was an exageration but... is it? how do you think all these rapes happened in germany etc by the illegal imigrants? do you think they werent provoked by the females' attire? plus if you want "democracy" start thinking outside of your egotistical little circle of "YOUR rights" and start putting your self a bit in other people's shoes... .
- Show All Show Less
i can't believe you are making me even explain this to you, but rapists don't give a shit what you are wearing and it won't suddenly make a person into a criminal at the sight of some skin, if someone has that ability in them to rape another human being, it won't matter if that person is naked or is wearing an armored suit.
You seriously need to grow up and mind your own business. If you know anything at all about rape you would know it's a crime of violence and how a woman is dressed rarely plays a role. You really need to wake up and educate yourself on women's issues. WOW! Now she's attacking immigrants! Judgmental hypocritical about as knowledgeable on women's issues as women in the typical polygamist cult, and now Xenophobic too. Your one piece of work.
Asker- Muslim extremest (not all Muslims, or even a majority) are offended by women h their heads uncovered. Are you worried about offending them too? No one should feel the need to limit their own freedom just because it may OFFEND someones religion. Those kind of religious people need to be more focused on being offended by our countries abysmal state of social justice and less on being offended by the freedom of others.
- I agree with you. People should be more modest. We women have beautiful bodies, it's good to be proud of our bodies, but there's no need to show it off or to prove people that we love our bodies. If we show too much skin, it looks vulgar, it looks cheap. It gives a bad message. Some girls like it when guys stare at this boobs or ass. But it's disrespectful, and guys will stare more at your ass if you were revealing clothes. Is this still revelant?

And they have every right to. What things do you want to prevent women from doing? ruling their own bodies? Control their own reproduction? Being your boss? Being president? Perhaps you feel threatened by strong women.
- Anonymous+1 yWell it's very simple...
Sluts dress like sluts :-)Is this still revelant?Slut is a often a term employed by sexist to belittle a woman who is self empowered to control her own sexuality.

It doesn't sound like it. Your angry tone of judgment makes you sound pretty insecure. Unless a woman is shoving her titties in your man's eye socket or her ass is falling out in front of your child then I don't see the big deal. Women could wear a crop top that says "I'M A SLUT" with matching daisy dukes and I still wouldn't care let alone be half as angry as you sound
- Show All Show Less
Not really. I just don't see why you're so worked up over what other females wear. I see girls looking like they literately just got straight off of the stripper pole and I don't care even the slightest so I'm not sure why you do?
- Asker+1 y
because i try to be more sensitive to other people's feelings and put my self in their shoes. some times this attire is provoking, unfashionable even insulting for others. in the name of a "feministic" "i do whatever i want with my body" ideal we shouldn't intrude into other people's freedom.
... so how is saying telling them they dress like sluts being sensitive to other's feelings and putting yourself in their shoes? Lol
- Asker+1 y
i've talked with quite some men and other women about it. and while you'd expect the opposite, especially from men, you'd surprised to know how many are offended by this kind of attire but just never raise their voice to protest about it. and even me as i woman i dont find this flattering for us... .
I don't see what good it does to be offended by how much clothing attire someone wears because lets just be realistic: the world isn't going to cover up for you and the people you talked to. There are more important things going on in this crazy world, girls dressing like "sluts" doesn't seem like a legitimate issue to be protesting. It's not an "us". Women don't represent one another especially if they're total strangers who come from a different walk of life. So you don't have to feel like a "slutty dressed" girl suddenly represents you.
Dontcha think you may be intruding on their personal freedom by telling them how to dress?- Asker+1 y
well that get quite philosophical right no cause we have to dwell into if there are some universal human values through which all others must be judged/filtered. if such values exist then maybe yes you can point out their mistake without it being intruding their freedom. cause with your reasoning every crime could be forgiven if seen under the offender's paradigm... .
I mean... not really... it's just clothing to put on your back. You really shouldn't let such trivial things bother your spirit.
No human being has any place or right to be judging any other human being because we are all imperfect and come up short somehow. You may be speaking as if you're perfect when it comes to some imaginary societal dress code, but I guarantee if we all take a look at the skeletons in your closet, you're not. Which is okay. None of us are and none of us should be wasting our limited time on Earth trying to be.
Being scantily clad is not a crime. Goodness. Lol- Asker+1 y
you might be right. i might have just put too much thought into it... but... is it really such a small issue? or we've been conditioned to think so? isn't that another sign of where our civilization stands currently? dont the great goods or evils begin with smaller, seemingly insignificant ones?
See so is it fair for you to be judging and scrutinizing anyone else knowing that you have your own lack of perfection deep down?
It really is a small issue. There are so many more powerful, long term impactful things going on in this world. Stopping to protest about how much fabric someone chooses to wear really serves no purpose. Especially considering that at the end of the day, they're going to do what they want and exercise their own free will no matter what you think.
Being scantily clad isn't an 'evil' lol Good grief, girl! You're overanalyzing. People are accountable and responsible for their own thoughts and behavior so scantily clad outfits aren't the cause of something; someone's lack of self-discipline and a weak ability to control their thoughts are.
I really don't think skimpy clothes are going to change history forever lolNot really. It's 2016 meaning women have the freedom and liberty to dress how they please. Women spent centuries making sure they weren't "egotistical" and dressing with everyone's feelings around wearing uncomfortable ass things.
How other people choose to dress is none of your business. You are trying to make it your business but it is not. If a woman walks outside in a bandeau top, which is basically a bra* and some shorts, it is not your business. No offense, but if anything YOU are egotistical for trying to tell strangers what they can and can't do when it comes to how they dress and acting like they're supposed to spend their hard earned money on clothes that you like. The way you dress is never anyone's business. You are free to dress how you'd like and if anyone tries to make it their business, you tell them "My wardrobe is none of your business. Worry about yourself."
- Asker+1 y
you can't understand, so we can't come to an agreement. you seem to completely not be able to wrap your head around the concept that nudity is offensive for many people out there. i'm not judging it as good or bad, it is what it is, but i have to respect the way they look at things even if i disagree. and women in antiquity that you mention where far more classy with their long dresses in my opinion. and society was more homogenous.
I can understand what you're saying. It just honestly sounds like a bunch of overanalyzed nonsense. People aren't walking outside 'nude' and you sound ridiculous comparing scantily clad people to those who are entirely nude.
You didn't know each and every single one of those women to know for sure that they liked their clothing so you can't even say that. The reality is that YOU may be making certain women feel suppressed with your demanding idea that they need to dress how you want.
You're putting too much emotion into something that's really not your business.- Asker+1 y
maybe i'm overanalyzing it and exagerating. but i think your "everyone can dress however he wants" is on the other extreme and is on itself an exageration. and a part of our conditioning and corruption of our morals. i dont know what will be considered "normal" in a century from now. incest maybe? publically practiced as well? maybe the truth lies somewhere between mine and your thinking patterns... .
- Asker+1 y
someone said in the future those speaking the truth and rationality will sound like crazy to the masses. these things dont go alone. scantily clothing for example. there is a whole scheme behind it working on with loosing morals, overstimulating the public with sexual info and stimuli (porn, sex ed, pro abortion campaigns etc) with goals like population control, weakening the nuclear family etc. (for example gorbachev said that we need to sell more sexuality to keep the population in manageable minimally polluting percent). food for thought ;P (only the future will show us). thnx for the input anyway.
I'm pretty sure scantily clad outfits are not going to have some massive impact on the future and you are not some misunderstood truth-knower who will prove us all wrong. There are waaaaay bigger things going on in society.
Porn, sex education, and pro abortion campaigns are totally different topics from wearing revealing clothing. Sex education is absolutely necessary so that people can learn what their body does and what will put their body at risk. You sound really paranoid and irrational.- Asker+1 y
no i don't. i think. maybe you can't just see the big picture. nothing is isolated and by chance. fashion is carefully designed, promoted and pushed to the masses. and the change from modesty to the pornstar wannabe style of today happened gradually, not in a night. and the whole dark side of feminism (its true face not the excuses they've put forth to justify its existence) contributed to exactly that. the pie making housewives of the 50s didn't become scantily dressed cosmo readers that lose their virginity at 13 and are broken emotionally and physically from their teen years (as many girls-victims are today) in a single night. it took years. and while women indeed won some rights, they werent newfound. there was more damage done than good to our gender. its just that some wanted to turn women into men. and not in a good sense.
- Asker+1 y
as for sex ed etc, you dont seem to know how the human psyche works. its not a matter of just informing kids about harassment dangers and stds, by opening young kids' minds from a very young age to these concepts, you also slowly but steadily help them descend from the years of their innicence to a more corrupt mindset. it slowly grows into you. and kids are informed today about these things with the worst and most unhealthy way possible, (through porn etc which gives a totally twisted view of loving relationships). and who do you think are the fashion icons that inspire young girls today? most are strippers and prostitutes dressed as actresses, pop singers etc. i've seen girls even comparing themselves to pornstars. now thats someone to look up to isn't it? thats our generation. and none of it happened accidentally.
- Asker+1 y
and also about sex ed there are reported cases were teachers were told to teach these concepts in first-second graders and even in kindergarden (in spain this happened if i remember correctly) and the kids returned totally shocked and traumatized to their home. touching their own genitals with disgust and fear and not wanting to touch or interact with other people, even their family members. and these are real cases that happen in the real world.
Actually, I graduated college with a bachelors in psychology. Lol
... I'm going to pretend I didn't just read that. Lmao!- Asker+1 y
what does your bachelor has to do with anything? to quote a writer, reality is crazier than a conspiracy theories, and even the most intriguing c. t. is pale against the real schemes that happen behind the scenes. your very education is just another part of the system. i've gone to college as well and was vastly dissapointed by the amount of conditioning and propaganda that exists even in this "place of knowledge". you might disagree with my point of view but you should have read the things i had to judge my opinions. especially in the matter of feminism i have archives about factory owners in the 70s promoting abortions and sexual "freedom" to their female workers so that they dont have to pay them while them being pregnant and sitting at home. but even that wasn't all. the women that were the leading figures of these campaigns were serving the interests of even greater influences... . to mention an example of the "feminism experiment"... .
Nothing really, it was just funny because you said I sound like I know nothing about psychology and I studied it for years ;p
- Asker+1 y
that not everything you see around you is accidental. there are certain forces in this world. certain economic interests, that shape everything that will mark the next generation in society. they have think tanks that manage midterm plans from clothes and styling, to movies, music, ideology, even some slang terms and concepts of the daily life. and that the tradional family model is completely unfit to this new world order (about which the world leaders speak openly. its no secret of some sort.). it is both contradicting their population management goals (which they present as ecological pollution control), and their economical goals (the structure of the capitalistic society and the demads of the modern market (not a marxist by the way)). and what's a better way to hit a traditional constitution like the nuclear family, than with corrupting the morals of the youth and alienate them from it with their own will. cause if you directly fight an ancient constitution you raise resistance.
