I've only shed a few teardrops when I have been really angry (like less than 10 times in my life), but never actually angry-cried. If you're referring to breakdowns as mental ones, then I have that cry once or twice a year. If it's an emotional one (like... normal crying, I guess), it's once every 2-3 months, in general.
This is a good question! And I specifically noticed in shows like er or greys anatomy.. That from what I've seen the crying seems to be mostly from the women. But I think that very question has been asked before with some interesting responses.
My goal here was to see if girls crying like that was a hype for tv and movies or if it had some truth to it. And from reading the comments it seems to occur more often that I thought

It’s not something you see just in the TV shows. Women are emotional beings and we are not afraid to be vulnerable, so we cry when the need comes up!!
