I really hate that phrase. My house, my rules. Yeah I get that for anything to do with the house. Hang a painting? Check with the owner. Wear some shorts? The only check you should make is they are clean.
I disagree, they don't need to keep her around, they pay the rent and provide for her. That gives them the right to decide stupid shit. If you want to get that right for yourself, provide for yourself.

Because she's an adult. Before that, they are the voice of reason, unfortunately, and the child had to go along with it.
How far does that extend? They can dictate what she wears, can they dictate where she goes? What if we take a fairly big step, can they arrange a marriage for her?
Underaged or not? Because if your parents have the condition that you have to marry someone to keep living at their place, I'm pretty certain you will want to move anyway.

When you move out you can do what you want. But they had reasons for saying no when you live with them. Their reasons may be good reasons. Its about growing up and thinking as an adult
