Thank you for the responses. I was surprised to see mostly physical definitions, and hoped to hear more about the roles women should play a part in. Like nurturing, supportive, submissive...

In many countries you are a second class citizen. Your purpose is to marry and give children to men. So you get forsed to it since childhood or teen years. To constantly deal with hormones, periods, pregnancy, labour, and body changes all your life as a result. Your value is associated with your age and fertility. And your decisions has to be approved by men. To be fearful from risk of abuse, rape, discrimination and molestation. To listen to your father, brothers, husband, uncle, religious men, and male only courts. Being a woman is a curse in many many countries in the world. And a blessing in some.

Not to mention honor killings and disfigurement that is still legal in many parts of the world. Having no freedom and no choice.

But growing up I was told that being a woman is being loving, kind, and graceful. To build future generations and make the house you live in a home. Is to be the emotional rock for everyone around you while sacrificing yourself. With grace and with smile.

So I don't know if anyone knows what being a woman is. We all have different definitions shaped by our societies and environment.

All I know is that I am a woman. And my lived experiences and decisions is what makes me a woman. And no one can take that away from me or define it for me. With all its pain and its blessings. Being a woman is your character and love that you generously give. Is to withhold the same ethical standards and values that you would expect your man to stand by.

In a biologycal sense it's certain chromosomes, it's having certain genitalia, it's certain hormonal levels, it's having certain body structures or fat accumulations due to hormones, it's (in a normal situation) beign able to get pregnant and having periods between specific an specific bracket of ages.

In a social sense I don't actually know what's beign a woman. Some psychologist would probably say having certain behavioral patterns that make you more oriented to enjoy certain activities and professions more than others.

I personally think that when we stop seeing each other as two different creatures from a different planet... the better we all will be! We are very much the same. We sometimes just need to try to see things from the others point of view. But again... I don’t think 🤔 that’s a gender issue... just common decency.

So my parents/family live in a place called Nottingham (Robin hood territory lol... they're pretty much in tier 3 lockdown (which is full lockdown... no interacting... so I'm not allowed to visit) and I'm in a place called West Yorkshire which in a few days time will be the same, so I'm good but lockdown is harsh! lol How are you mate?

@Poppykate It also doesn't help that we have an idiot as a prime minister lol, I tend to visit my family for a few days over Christmas and I think the lockdown will mean that's not going happen, but hey it will save me a fortune in Christmas presents lol
