Girls, I texted up a younger girl & made one badly timed sexual comment. She got creeped/pissed despite me immediately apologizing. How can I fix?

Question

We texted for two weeks straight about lots of things. We were planning to meet up. We did talk about sex earlier. Just a FYI she said some political things that really pissed me off but I handled it calmly. I disagreed without getting pissed off.

Anyway about a week ago I made a badly timed sexual comment. I knew I screwed up right after I said it and I immediately took it back. She got real pissed and I waited a few days to contact her. She did respond but very shortly/curtly.

I hate it when this happens. I’m a bit smarter nowadays about these things then when I was younger. However I’m not perfect. Sometimes I’ll try to be fun and flirty but the timing is off.

We did have some real deep sexual talk earlier so I felt safe making a comment. But I wasn’t safe.

Anyway to salvage this? We were going to meet up when she came in town for Christmas.

Honestly, it sounds like she was waiting for an opportunity to cut you loose, and took this instance upon herself to get out and make it your fault. If you guys were already having sexual conversations, so it wasn’t like you just sprung something vulgar up out of the blue for her to be so put out. I think she either is interested in someone else or just losing interest. The moral of this is don’t beat yourself up or over-apologize for something that I agree does sound like it would’ve been safe to say. You’ve tried to clear the air and if she’s being this harsh about it then she simply just doesn’t want to.

Yeah I didn’t have my hopes up to high (I have other options). She’s 20 so I know girls that age can get set off on the slightest thing (intentional or not). It would nice if I could just reset the conversation but I don’t think it’s worth the effort.

I didn’t apologize again after this happened (only at the moment). Apologizing too much over nothing would look weak anyway.

I’m all for putting your pride aside when the situation calls for it, and apologizing twice when you feel like the person is deserving of it is not weak. If she’s someone you saw a lot of potential with or want to keep around, I would say that apologizing again wouldn’t hurt. However, I feel as though she had ulterior motives for her actions and used your slip up as a scapegoat, which is really childish and messed up. But she wouldn’t be the first, male or female, to use an opportunity that works in their favor against the person they want to be free of.

In my past experience overly apologizing to women makes them lose romantic interest. Not to say I don’t apologize. I always do if I legitimately screw up.

But you are right about what you said earlier. If she was legitimately interested she would of gotten over this quicker. But she isn’t. If I keep pursuing she will just end up using me for something.

Tell her your deeply sorry and that you didn't mean to offend her and that you shouldn't have said that then give her some time to think and to respond when she's ready and what ever she chooses respect her decision if she still wants to talk to her or not.
