Most of us know that in theory women from Asia go out of their way to act more "feminine" compared to girls from Europe, even pretending to be easily impressed. When an european woman goes out of her way to compliment a guy she doesn't really know well we take it as a solid sign of interest. That is usually followed up with a bunch of other clear signals that practically scream at us. My question is, how does this work in Asian cultures? Do people just go around complimenting random strangers, friends, family or romantic interests? Or do they just use compliments to connect with other people and ease the "getting to know" process?
