I consider myself a feminist but I do not consider myself the same as a lot of feminists you see represented in news or online, my version of feminism is that I want everybody (men and women) to be able to live how they want as long as they aren't hurting anybody, and for me, that means what you might call a fairly traditional relationship where my fiance makes more money than I do and I plan to stay home with kids when we have kids for at least a few years and then my job will be secondary to my family life for a long time. That is what I want and I would like society to be able to support that but if somebody else wants something different I would like society to also support that, I don't think we should force everybody to live one way or the other. I think we are equal overall and need each other but I do not think we are the same. JMO!
Feminism is a messed up movement nowadays.. I'm not a feminist, I believe in human rights in general not only women's rights and men can go to hell...
We need equity not equality because we can never be equal , at this point we are just switching roles.
Feminism was actually very much needed when it began. I've heard women from the 60s explain how they were treated, and it disgusts me. Fast forward to today though, and Feminism is simply mysandry. It's as they say tho, when the pendulum swings from one extreme, it will go to the other extreme. I think future generations will reap the benefits of this adjustment period, because a lot more people are starting to see just how counterproductive modern day feminism is here in the west. For those of us here now, all we can do is our part, which is to call out the hypocrisy when we see it.
In order for 1st tier feminism to work, you need to accept that you shouldn't need or want a man. And stop the bullshit of being half traditional and half feminist. For that reason I no longer call myself a feminist or support feminism. Too many hypocrites.
First of all, if we’re only talking about the beginning stages, that’s fine but after a while, I don’t hate men I’m not with that I love my father

I'm not a feminist.
Don't get me wrong, I support and am grateful for the positive changes earlier feminists made possible for today's women. But if a woman identifies as a feminist today, she is by default supporting today's feminist movement, which I am passionately against.
The movement has turned into a shit show that accomplishes nothing positive but is responsible for a lot of negativity, hate and unfairness. So I do not identify as a feminist and I don't respect women who do.
I’m all for the beginning. The second wave doesn’t even make any sense. The third one definitely doesn’t make any sense.
Of course we need men and no I don’t want to be a man.
I don’t consider myself a feminist.
Like in the beginning, women should be able to vote, get an education, owned businesses and land, and be able to take care of themselves. Our generation of parents taught us that we can have these things and we don’t have to wait around for marriage in order to obtain them.
Yes. Mandatory just like its for men.
You wanna be equals dont you?
Or do you expect men to die for you while you do what?
Also, on tge point of women getting the vote, men were allowed to vote only because they carry the responsability of defending the country.
So please, dont talk about equality until women have to do the same for your right to vote
Yes it is.
Last year i believe, there was talk of applying the draft/selective service to women in america.
In slovenia, the previous admin. Proposed reinstating mandatory service (duration not specified) FOR MEN ONLY.
In ukraine, men were not allowed to leave when russia attacked, only women.
If feminists wanted equality, they would demand these rules to apply to womeb aswell.
Hypocrites
@grega239 remember it you all made the rules in the beginning about the military so when it became our times even get in, we were only nurses and nothing more. You’re mad about what it was and there are women that want to be on the front line then make it happen you’re outraged about what’s going on then go change it and make a suggestion that we should do the same because there are some women that were chosen to stay talk about in reinstating some thing and actually reinstating some thing or two different things do I think we’ll be in war soon not soon, but there’s a possibility
The rules were made as such because men are better warriors. Always were, always will be.
2nd. Only women can give birth... You dont send people like that to get killed
Do you?
And you seem to be missing the point.
Feminists want equality but never say anything about the responsabilities that come with it.
Therefore, hypocrites.
Me personally I try to stay away from the drama but if someone feminist demands. A belief ist, ism or rian group. I typically go with the true equal group. Egalitarian. The true equality between men and women. I just warn women that true equality means you gotta be willing and able to keep up then in the mans world. Save the complaining for after the work is done. 😉
I'm not a feminist but of course I believe in equality; which will probably never happen because people are psychos and life isn't fair. By means of "life isn't fair" it means shit happens. The part feminists fail to understand is men have their own problems. All their arguing must be exhausting. Chill out and live life. We only live once right? And haha the photo is so true 🤣😂🤣
And I understand that. I'm simply implying that instead of equality, regardless of what side your on, one side wants to dominate over the other. That's with anything political. It's just a game of tug of war.
And I apologize if you think I'm insulting feminists but SOME (not all) are a little bit excessive.
I believe you've mischaracterized the three waves. As an egalitarian I support equal rights and opportunities for both genders, but I think feminism has failed to recognize that men and women are fundamentally different and that not all women want to be engineers, nor do all men want to be nursemaids.
Because God made men in his image, and everything was built by men. Plus I prefer just being a house wife doing my womanly role to keep the house in order while he is away at work than taking on a men's job which is stressfull. Also giving him massages when he comes home from work, etc.
I don't think people understand what it truly means to be equal. it's not just about equal rights and power. it's about equal responsibilities and accountability.
I feel kind of like all 3. I want to be seen as equal to men. I don’t need any men outside my family. And I was a boy for a few years in high school.
Tier one. In a way, feminism is another word for egalitarianism.
And where exactly is feminism in it's synonyms? https://www.thesaurus.com/browse/egalitarian If that's your claim then anyone can also say masculinism is about equality. If you oppose, then that's double standards which proves the irony.
@Aiko_E_Lara That's why I said "in a way"
Then it is just like saying in a way, masculinism is about equality. But why complicate things when you already have the existing word "equality"?
No matter how extreme equality is, the result is always equality. Just like how many zeros you add zero is always zero. The reason why third-wave feminism exists because of feminism in the first place. That is why it cannot be accurately be described as equality.
Pay gap has already been talked about a lot. There are loads of reasons for it, from occupation choices to family care that result in women making less than men. Plus, men are more likely to work overtime than their female counterparts, which warrants extra pay where I am from. Not to say there aren't incidents of unequal pay that should not be addressed, I am just inclined to think that is not the norm.
I'm pretty sure access to birth control and sterilization is not a big issue in westernized societies, given how prevalent the stuff is especially in most westernized countries. I can see why it would be pressing in muslim-led first world nations, though.
Abortion rights- hoo yeah this is a touchy subject, so I will not claim a "politically correct" opinion. This is just the way I view it. If you conceive a child, it is the parents' responsibility to birth him, feed him, raise him and educate him. Fathers need to step up too. You do the deed, you pay the price. In such cases, to me, abortion is like shirking responsibilities.
However, there is a huge grey area pertaining to sexual assault-related pregnancies. Therefore, I do not have the right to judge anyone for choosing abortion. Which is why I think abortion should be discouraged, but remain a legal option.
Again, all this applies mostly to first world western countries. Conditions are much different in many other places, that warrant the need for feminism.
Nothing is perfect, nor will anything ever be. We can work towards equal outcome for all, but it will never be equal.
There will always be problems popping up here and there that affect men, women, or even both. We do not live in a perfect world, so we gotta make use of what we have.
If you want to talk about equal rights for both men and women all over the world, that is still equality not feminism. If you only wanna talk about specific parts of the world where women are more oppressed then that is nitpicking. They're also part of this world where men are more oppressed. It's not like i can just call myself a feminist yesterday because my mom was harassed then tomorrow i'm going to become a masculinist because my dad is going to be falsely convicted. It's not that hard to just support equality itself
Nice summation with pics too…for simple guys, like me, to understand 👍
I'm not a feminist I feel like the movement is the worst thing that ever happened for women.
1st and 3rd I guess? I'm a feminist and I'm a dude. I just don't think one sex should be treated any worse than the other solely based on their sex
Im the ultimate blue haired feminist. 😂 No offense to any blue haired women.
i'm anti feminism. i don't separate the movement in waves. they were always a dangerous, ideologically driven group of minority nutcases.
I want to have the same opportunities and rights that a man has. But don’t get me wrong, only if I am truly capable of performing them just as good if it were let’s say a job. There shouldn’t be any leeway just bc I’m a woman.
I think women should support their man and take care of their families.
I think this picture sums up all feminists these days
I’d say first wave like yeah I don’t want a macho man I want a man that’ll help me at home when I’m tired but I’m nothing too extreme
If most modern women weren't feminist we wouldn't have joe biden or the anti trump campaign.
I support in equality that is why i am not a feminist
Third wave feminists barely admit they are third wave feminists. Just like how narcissistic people have a hard time admitting they are a narcissist.
@CateM I do know that equality is equality and feminism is feminism. That's why they are 2 different words and not even synonyms
