Talkative girl is shy around me, why?

So there's this girl at work and she's cute and pretty cool, we can banter and joke around for a bit and she's very talkative sarcastic and funny around other people but she's more shy around me. I'm not sure if she's uncomfortable around me or she likes me and doesn't wanna give it away. What do you think?

  • Honestly, being a girl in literally the same situation I have an answer that might fit.

I have been at my job about 2 months, and I'm absolutely awestruck by this extremely sexy, tall, exotic man at my work who has not been too shy about giving me a good long stare. I am normally talkative, outgoing, silly around the others at my work (I'm one of 2 females in an office of 21 men!), but when he intentionally comes around my desk and takes way longer than he needs to and smiles slyly, I turn sheepish as hell!

Now, we've recently moved a bit past this point, as we had the most A-M-A-Z-I-N-G night in the sack... but I still turn into a bumbling, shy little girl around him.

The likelihood of something similar for you I'd say is high. Now, she may not want to jump your bones or whatever at this point, but's it's a lot more likely that she at least finds you attractive than her actually being intimidated by you. Test the waters by simply being nice to her, paying a bit more attention to her... be aware of her perceived comfort level. You'll figure it out :)

  • awww! She either likes you or feels attracted towards you and is afraid of saying the wrong thing. You must be cute Just be comfortable around her and talk and joke around with her and she'll come around.

  • She could be either of those things, lol.

What else does she do? What body language?

    • Well when I was standing waiting for something to come through for me to work on she came and stood next to me, which isn't in of itself out of the ordinary, because that's the same place she had to be, but its a 10ft long section of wall and she chose 3 inches away from me, or she would be rather polite I mean more than she normally is around me if she was in my way when I was carrying something heavy

    • Oh...um...well.. I don't know what to make of that. I'm not the one who percieved it. But usually when there's someone who likes you, you get like an instinct or a vibe... You'll know when they like you.

  • there are 2 reasons that she is shy.

    1) she likes you

    2) she is afraid of you.

which one do you find more logical?

    • Well I hate to think someone is scared of me, but I am 6'3" and 200lb, so it may be possible, but I'm always trying to smile at her and make her feel welcome because she is new to the job

    • Or she could be afraid of you because she likes you...

  • She likes you. I'm like that as well, an embarrassing wreck in front of a crush.

    • "embarrassing wreck" LOL! But I know what you mean. ;(

  • Hm, who would you be shy around?

    • No one really.. its more fun to just be open and joke around

  • Have you tried talking to her, it would be pretty obvious if you did,

  • Because she wants your D man..

  • I act the same way around my friends I am crazy and wild and will do anything but around my boyfriend then I will be calm and quieter I get nervous to be around him and it's because I really like home but I'm not sure how to show it

  • She is most likely digging you man. If you're attracted to her then ask for her # and invite her out. I'm sure that you'll have a great time together, might even get your freak on. Enjoy!

  • I would say she is attracted to you and find you hot. I am one of those girls around guys I find attractive.

  • I say she likes you!

  • Could be.
