How to be a great online troll

They have many names... Noobs, spambots, hecklers and cyber bullies. Although, the infamous name you will most likely know them by is trolls.

I personally troll quite often. I consider myself to be an expert troll when I want to be. For this reason I have decided to help some of you wannabe trolls in taking your troll game to the next level.

To be a great troll you need to have a proper understanding of what a troll is suppose to do. So let's start there:

How to be a great online troll

The troll objective

It has become painfully obvious that many so called trolls have no idea what they are even suppose to be doing. A good troll has one mission and one mission only... to illicit a response from the OP or other commentors. A good troll wants nothing more than to get under someone/anyones skin and have them RESPOND.

Now that you understand the main objective here is what NOT to do (with example to illustrate):

How not to troll

The retarded ad hominem attack...

This is the majority of what I see all the time. Say an individual has a YouTube video about working out. The video content is all about squats and shows the guy doing his squat routine... A novice troll will say something like:

"This guy seriously sucks at squats. Lol what a LOSER"

Now they will get say 5-10 response of people telling them stfu or gtof or let's see you do better... but they could have started a 300 comment thread if they executed the correct way.

Now this is the best way to troll to cause maximum damage!

Troll so hard they wanna find me

Now, if you really want to be good at trolling people, causing maximum damage, disruption, and keybord slamming you need to do the following.

My techinque is simple. I combine elements of truth with pure bullshit and idiocy. This ENRAGED people because I make them believe that I actually believe what I am saying.. Once you master this people will rage at you on another level.

Example:

Say someone has a post a video of a family dog being shot by a cop... I will think of an initial comment post that I know will generate a response. Although, I will not know the kind of response I will for sure get. But I am aiming for someone who disagrees with something I initially write:

"Man cops are F***ing pussies... why didn't he just shoot into the air like a sensible person instead of killing a tiny dog (dog in video is huge Lol)"

GOT EM: See, I know from the post that this is unrealistic in reality and shooting in the air is not something cops can or should do... but I pose the question in a way that makes it seem as if I am totally serious.

Possible response from tollie:

"Are you F***ING kidding me!!!?!?! Shoot into the air in a busy neighborhood? Who would ever think of such a stupid thing. You do realize those bullets will come down!?!"

Troller response:

"Yeah... I am totally serious douche. I realize it's a neighborhood but If he would have done that the dog 100% would have ran away. "bullets will come down!?!" So many NASA studies show that most bullets escape Earths gravity anyways so that is highly unlikely jackass (little name calling really gets people going)"

Notice how I thow out a total bullshit NASA stat that ironically the other person will look up Lmao. Notice how I also had semi agreeance "I realize it's a neighborhood..." makes it seem like I am somewhat sensible but actually I am nothing but a troll. This reals them in for the long haul.

The key is to get someone thinking that they can/will educate you on something by the end of the convo. When in reality I don't really stand behind anything I am saying.

In closing remember that just calling people names is not trolling. Any 3rd grader can do that. Real trolling is a balancing act between truth and total bullshit. Real trolling is getting people to believe you actually are nuts.
