1. More equal relationships There are women who pay for dates. There are guys who help out with house work.
2. Greater sexual compatibility For me the top 100 best times having sex have been with a biological woman.
3. Better help with guy issues My girlfriend can tie a tie better than a lot of guys I know. She also know more ways to to tie it also. My girlfriend can calm me down Berger than any guy who has ever tried.
4. More time together It has never been awkward working out with my girlfriend. The separate locker room part does not bother me.
Seems like you tried to make it out to be as if guys are always better off with another guy instead of a woman. I disagree.
Not at all. I just thought it would be fun to point out that there are some advantages to being with a dude. There’s certainly different advantages to being with a woman, no question about it!
Maybe I’ll make a take outlining the advantages of heterosexuality. I’d probably get called a homophobe, though.
As for your comment on number one, yes there are, but I don’t think anyone thinks that’s the norm.
Those benefits are all well and good but you can't convince a straight person to enter a homosexual relationship, if they did for a start they'd be bisexual. My only lesbian experience was with my friend when I was in high school we made out because of a dare, it did absolutely nothing for me and in my mind I leaned more towards repulsed than aroused.
What information do you base this off of? Way to stereotype both women and men. Women don't provide emotional support to men? What kind of bullshit is this. You cannot "advertise" dating a gender or sex you're not attracted to, and this is what you are doing. You are also completely sexist saying women can't tie ties or do guy stuff. Take your bullshit views elsewhere...
That's not at all what I'm saying. I'm simply outlining how being in a gay relationship isn't all bad. There are many, many other benefits to being in a relationship with a woman. And yes, I did stereotype a little bit, hence the disclaimer at the top:
'this list will certainly not apply to all people or all relationships. This is simply an enumeration of things to consider.'
I never said women couldn't do those things; it's simply less likely.
OH my gosh jetboy797 you are so stupid and basically wrong about everything you said, God created girls and guys to be together for a reason!!! Oh and I guess you also didn’t realize guys that like other guys and girls that like other girls is called gay for a reason!!!
@Binnie Huh? You say that God created guys and girls to be together, yet you also acknowledge the existence of gay people. What, are gay people supposed to be single and lonely?
@Binnie I was just going with what you said; they're not supposed to exist, but they do. Hence god must have fudged up somewhere if he made gay people exist even though they're "not supposed to."
Or... if god isn't flawed then he must have made them to be exactly as they are.
@AllThatSweetJazz No “God did not fuge up anything” it’s stupid people that fudged up!!! Are you gay? If you are, then you are one of these people that fudged up!
@Binnie You cannot argue that gay people shouldn't exist, acknowledge that they do exist, and then claim that the being you believe to have created the world did a perfect job. It's just plain illogical. Non sequitur. Does not follow.
First of all if you are a christian Binnie then respect people's choices because that's what God would've done. You should still love and respect people even if you don't agree with their choices. Remember that when God put us on this Earth he gave us a choice to either have a relationship with him or not. So leave people let them choose and let God be the judge not you.
What Gobbledygook. There is no relationship there. This whole thing is stupid incarnate. Sexual compatibility? That's like trying to power one lamp by plugging it into another lamp plug. Those 2 lamps look good together to some, but they will never produce any light.
Well, I tie my borther’s ties often, actually. I would also not care for the house on my own, considering I would be working as well. And, personally, I haven’t noticed any correlation between my stress level and horniness... In fact, I often masturbate when I am stressed due to needing to pull an all-nighter to study or something...
I do think, though, that bisexual men prefer to be with other men, and simply get with women when they decide they want to have biological children and a family... As such, I would not be with a bisexual by choice, but unfortunately many people lie.
@jetboy I highly doubt it.. Men that are even somewhat into other men seem to have an obsession with penises. It’s hard enough to come across a straight guys that really likes vulvas, so it’d be near impossible for a bisexual guy to be so into them. Regardless, that’s just one of my many other reasons..
@markfish If you’re gonna claim something like that, at least say “most.”
Lesbian porn is by far the most popular genre of porm to women (pornhub statistics). And in tests every women was aroused by lesbian porn and nakef women, which prompted the researches to claim that all women are bisexual.
eh i disagree with the testosterone thing, i think it would be funner to compete with someone whose meant to be better cause its more competitive, and plus its soo cute when guys help girls on tv! and also 3 i disagree with cause if you can learn to support someone with different variations of problems itl make you better at doing emotional supportive stuff in general and besides, its so cute when guys cry!!! (not all the time though haha)
I'm 1000% straight and I'm not missing out on anything. A woman is my counterpart in everything sexually as well as in life. I would be missing out to not have an opportunity to have a women in my life. Life is worth living because of women from this male's perspective.
Correct me if I'm wrong here but I'd imagine it's a lotttt easier to get laid as a gay dude that's a huge upside. Yer you guys probably do have a few upsides, luckily enough as society hasn't exactly treated you guys well.
You’re kind of right. It depends what your wants are. If you just want to get laid by a guy, yeah that should be simple, but there’s no guarantee he’ll be attractive and if he’s on Grindr or the like he probably won’t have a great personality... he’ll be promiscuous.
Personally, I want someone who is a little above that. And my biggest problem is all my crushes tend to be straight.
Well with #3.. I don't need to date a guy to have that.. Just have a guy friend.. But, I'm good.. With compromise, and understandin all this can be worked out.. Plus women and men are meant to compliment each other.. Difference is what makes things interestin.. Especially when we learn to get past all that, and love each other.. 8)
I believe it. I'm straight but I've fantasied about relationships with guys. It seems so much easier and straightforward -- at least internally; within the relationship. I'm jelly honestly.
That's the key - within the relationship. There's a whole host of other problems related to presenting the relationship to the outside world. It's not the most practical arrangement for that reason. In my opinion, though, it could be worth it for the right person.
Yeah, that's what I mean. Especially difficult for a bi guy who might want to be with women in the future. Though there are certain elements about it that are quite practical; a wife is one of the most expensive things you can have, haha.
I'm not interested in men sexually. The idea is that *if* could form a romantic attachment to a guy it would be very good, but I find it difficult. I'm straight. As if it matters anyway, don't get your panties in a twist.
@Giacomanzo Being repulsed by men is a whole separate thing. Being straight is the sexual attraction of men to women and disinterest in men, not the utter repulsion of men. I'm not attracted to guys, I'm turned off by them.
If the mere inkling of homosexual interest disgusts you then that's your issue.
I specifically said "Receiving a smile from", which is different from a laugh, not "hating other creatures of your own gender". Don't twist my words for your own likings.
@Giacomanzo the fact that you fantasize about having a romantic relationship with a guy proves that you’re not straight. Most straight guys would be even repulsed by the idea of entertaining a thought of being a relationship with a guy. The discussion ends here.
@Giacomanzo Every white guy wishes they could beat up black people but they don't because of civil education. These statements being once true or true depending on where you are reveal cultural behaviour.. There's nothing about the psychology of being straight that means you naturally want to be violent toward people who hit on you that you don't find attractive.
Do you want to hit unattractive women if they hit on you?
“Every white guy wishes they could beat up black people but they don't because of civil education.” bruh. Did you take philosophy 101 at your university? Or, you just dropped the classes?
If they are pushy, yes indeed. The difference is that gay men, since they also have a civil standards in their mind, won't hit on you unless they are sure you are gay, because most men are expected by average to hate dicks.
@Giacomanzo I get asked out by a lot of gay guys in public including at my university and workplace. I do get consistently asked to hookup by gay guys. Don’t generalise.
If you’re white and you don’t want to beat up a black guy. I get that.
You’re an utterly despicable human being. You’re generalising a lot. Not every white person has such violent tendencies. The majority of whiteys aren’t even interested in harming innocent people. You speak only for yourself. You don’t speak for other whites.
@jamesmark1903 "You speak only for yourself. You don’t speak for other whites." Exactly, I don't feel that way about black people. I was making a point. This is what I'm saying to Giacomanzo's point.
@Giacomanzo "If they are pushy" A smile is not being pushy. A pat on the shoulder is not being pushy. Nothing of this sort should even inspire the thought of violence. Confident gay guys will hit on guys they find attractive. Clearly the other "straight" guy in this conversation doesn't agree with you.
"expected" ... Expected.
Seems more like there's only *your* 'expectations' about straightness and a inclination toward violence at play here that you're pushing on me. Why can't you accept that a straight guy could be merely indifferent or even flattered by someone being interested in him?
"I understand there are many benefits of dating the opposite gender"
You mean like evolution has created us to have sex with the opposite gender to procreate and balance out each other like a yin-yang symbol?
You can literally do everything with an opposite sex partner, if not more, than you can do with a same sex partner. And by the way I know that gay people don't choose, they just are. And that's fine by me. But these posts are stupid.
Cool enough. I'm bi too but only ever really dated a guy. I dated a gal in high school but it didn't last long. Obviously a lot of this depends on the couple in question but it's an interesting thought process!
same here because it is the stereotype of men and women "women can't tie ties" "more equal realtionships" is just untrue, you cannot say that depending on sexual preference, if your relationship is unequal then it just isn't fun for either "sexual compatibility" is also subjective, some match some don't "more time together" is again not true :P i spent hours upon hours with my ex
As a straight guy, I don't have your perspective on this, but I have a hard time believing any of these things are generally true. For example, I have known some gay guys in relationships, and they were anything but equals with their partners.
If it were a matter of logic men would never date women but as it is a matter of biology men can only see themselves often dating women. So such is the demand of our instincts and the nature of our persons. To be able to fly to the moon and yet be subjected to things like attraction makes for a strange species.

@Binnie Huh? You say that God created guys and girls to be together, yet you also acknowledge the existence of gay people. What, are gay people supposed to be single and lonely?
Um No! the whole point is that being gay shouldn’t even exist! people shouldn’t be gay at all That’s not how life is supposed to be!!!
@Binnie So god is flawed?
@AllThatSweetJazz, NO! do you know anything about God?
@Binnie I was just going with what you said; they're not supposed to exist, but they do. Hence god must have fudged up somewhere if he made gay people exist even though they're "not supposed to."

Is the only reason you date to reproduce?
Is the only reason you buy shoes is to walk in them?
No I think that was a bad analogy, that should be more directed at me.
Its more like you sir buys shoes, but never wears them.
My point here is that people are more than just sex organs. You can't compare them to shoes.
Well, I tie my borther’s ties often, actually. I would also not care for the house on my own, considering I would be working as well. I think the ultimate preference depends on the person. I know that, biologically at least, I’m more attracted to women than guys.
all women are bi so... that is pretty hypocritical
@Markfish I am sick and tired of people like you saying all women are bisexual. It has never been proven.
@jetboy
I highly doubt it.. Men that are even somewhat into other men seem to have an obsession with penises. It’s hard enough to come across a straight guys that really likes vulvas, so it’d be near impossible for a bisexual guy to be so into them. Regardless, that’s just one of my many other reasons..

If you’re gonna claim something like that, at least say “most.”
Are you really trying to claim you know more about my sexual orientation than I do?
I’m trying to claim that you’re in denial or just lying.
Well, there are a few girls who I’ve been with who would beg to differ with you. I’m bisexual. I love boobs, lol.
Genitals are the main sexual organs... So, now be honest, do you like penises or vulvas more?
The latter, but you really don’t have the right to interrogate people about their sexual preferences.
Lesbian porn is by far the most popular genre of porm to women (pornhub statistics). And in tests every women was aroused by lesbian porn and nakef women, which prompted the researches to claim that all women are bisexual.

Lol at all the hate you got just for making a simple take.
Just gets to show how homophobic the world still is.
Good that you had the couradge to write it
Thank you for the kind words!
lol, disagreeing with gay people doesn't make one homophobic. It just means one disagrees.
@InTimoreDei He got unwarranted hate... it was hardly disagreement
Most people misunderstood his take
Correct me if I'm wrong here but I'd imagine it's a lotttt easier to get laid as a gay dude that's a huge upside. Yer you guys probably do have a few upsides, luckily enough as society hasn't exactly treated you guys well.

Not necessarily. I’ve had a few gay friends in college and they have standards just like everyone else.
Just because a man is gay doesn’t mean they’re attracted to all men just like how you’re not attracted to all women because you’re straight.
@bloodmountain1990 So true.

Yeah, one of my biggest concerns is actually that a future girlfriend will dump me when I get up the nerves to tell her my ex is a dude.
Then you are not straight. Not 100% straight at least.
You’re not straight... never were.
I'm not interested in men sexually. The idea is that *if* could form a romantic attachment to a guy it would be very good, but I find it difficult. I'm straight. As if it matters anyway, don't get your panties in a twist.

@Giacomanzo "Receiving a smile from" "the mere inkling of homosexual interest" Am I actually twisting your words?
@jamesmark1903 "Most straight guys" I think you just unraveled your own argument. Then the discussion ends with you being wrong. Peace.
Most straight guys are not actually straight guys. Go to Sicily, give a straight guy a pat on the shoulder. You'll be beaten the shit out.
@Giacomanzo More a commentary on Sicilian culture than on the fundamental nature of heterosexuality.
Of course they are exaggerated in reaction, but that's what every straight guy wished to do but doesn't because of civil education.
@Giacomanzo Every white guy wishes they could beat up black people but they don't because of civil education. @Sjeggy totally agree
Like I said, this list doesn’t apply to all people or all relationships; there are certainly some generalizations.
Interesting read. Although I know (of) gay guys who are kept like trophies and pampered more than the average girlfriend.
If you have the proper relationship, no one will miss out on anything.
As a straight guy, I don't have your perspective on this, but I have a hard time believing any of these things are generally true. For example, I have known some gay guys in relationships, and they were anything but equals with their partners.
That’s fair enough, but this eliminates one major contributor to relationship inequality.
If it were a matter of logic men would never date women but as it is a matter of biology men can only see themselves often dating women. Yeah, it would have. Screw political correctness! :) In fact, I’m diliberating righting a similar myTake about what gay guys are missing out on!
