Why does a guy moan during kissing?

I was making out with my boyfriend, honestly this is my first time kiss... We're in a long distance relationship, to utilize all the time we have for ourselves, we kissed a lot (no sex- we're agreed to wait till the marridge). But on the last kiss, I don't know what I've done, he suddenly moaning and try to leave as fast as he could after the kiss. He said it's too dangerous.. why? at this point of time, I was too afraid to ask him

Well, for starters, sometimes one moans for pleasure, but sometimes one moans just to BREATHE. Were you constricting him
