It's not that your sheer size causes a guy to be insecure, it's that your 'presence' just doesn't make him feel like a man. Likewise, you wouldn't feel very feminine if he's about the same height, right? Yet your not insecure about anything.
Yes but if it's enough of a problem to keep them from dating then it is insecurity
Do you mean that if a woman thinks I'm a little weenie because I'm like 2 inches shorter than her, and as a consequence, she doesn't want to date me, that she is being insecure by not wanting a date? Or could it be that I just can't bring out the woman in her because I'm smaller, lighter, more fragile, etc? Smart money says it's the latter not the former why she wouldn't want to date me. (Please understand that I'm not the weenie just described; the little weenie is presented just to make my point).
I'm saying if being 2 inches shorter than her is such a problem that she won't date you then insecurity and shallowness are her problem.

Any woman who is over 5' 5" is considered tall, just as any guy who is over 5' 10" is considered tall. Both are above the statistical mean for the average heights of Americans.
5'8 is 1.72m
isn't that in the perfect-high-zone?
And @StrappingYoung thank you
Just to show yourself just how clueless you really are, the only thing you have to do is read what women want from men in the Personals (Craigslist, etc). Create a spreadsheet, and have columns reserved for the top five things women are asking for in their men. When all is said and done, you will be rendered speechless. "I always suspected I was living life in La-La land, but I didn't know I was just this out of touch with reality..." will be the first thought that runs through your mind as you discover that it's women and not men who have the obsession with physical height.
It doesn't bother me how tall anyone is but just out of interest how tall are you
Your height is perfect!
How tall do you like your guys? Do you wear heels?
