Actually i started thinking that sometimes. Im only 40 but i still get looks and flirt with young women. But once i find out the girl flirting with me is like 18 or younger i start thinking how just 18 years ago i was 22. My parents had me at 21. So im like damn. 😕 lol its a real life changer. Lol
im 28, not a teenager. And after calling me young lady he appoached another woman 38 years old and said just lady... not young lady... feels like he thinks of me like a im a kid
Yeah i can see what you mean. Being told you are young implies you are not just a woman. You are right, he messed up. An attractive woman being called young is just not good at all.
maybe he was acting on the notion many women like to be told how young they look so your assumption that he may have been telling you he isn't interested seems unlikely to me... im 52 so even if it did seem like a clumsy compliment to you, i can see where he was most likely coming from with such a remark
it might have been a compliment, but right after he said: you need to talk to this LADY /on a 38 year old woman/ which is still younger than him, so I don't know if he sees me like a kid or like he is above me like a teacher
ah well in that context it does sound more like given you advice
Compared to a 50 year old man, you are a young lady. It at least means that he sees you as not very mature, compared to him. And he is probably right. He has has 21 years more of maturing and learning than you have.
I have said it many times, I don't class myself as 'old' but I'm older than you. I've also Said it when I was younger as well. (30 - 40l) to older women just as a compliment. So, smile and take it as a compliment and share one back to him 😊
But rightafter he adressed other woman 40 year old just as lady..
As in "hello lady"?
As : you need to talk to this lady
Oh ok, i still think it's a compliment to you. Have you both shared how you feel about each other?
No.. i dont know how he feels about me at all.
Thats why im concerned by calling me young lady that he is not interested.
You are very interested in him?
Share with him how you feel. If you feel you can't maybe have lunch with him, slip a note to him, have a drink after work, tell him he is looking good.
Young lady is just a typical thing older guys say sometimes. It doesn’t really mean anything in and of itself.
You're a woman, you're half his age, making you a lot younger than him. Would you rather he called you, "old man"?
actually maybe that would feel better than young lady, at least it d seem like he thinks im on his level
Oh, this is common. I do it all the time, young lady. ;)
No he simply see you as younger than him, like when old veterans call males "young man" even if the guy is 40
But does it neccessarily mean he doesn't want to have anything more with me?
He doesn't sound "interested"... but it could also be the social pressure of being labeled that prevents him from making interest known.Calling you young lady likely doesn't have anything to do with interest or a lack thereof. It's just a simple go-to name for younger women.
Well, compared to him you are a young lady. That kind of just seems like an old person thing to say anyways.
I would NOT take that as proof he's not interested. But he's certainly aware of the age gap.
Should i call him young man next time to let him know i think he is not old for me? :D
Maybe he is a gentleman and he gives you a compliment
It's just the way old people speak. I've been called, hinny, duck, pet, love and many more, just depends on where I am in UK. there's no meaning to it.
Very common with people who dont see person with large age gap as romantic interests.
If I was interested I would not use “ young lady”. I don’t use it at all actually
Young lady is just a general term old men use for girls younger than them😂
You're younger than him. You're a young lady to him. Stop looking for something not there
why does it matter, if he's 50. you're TWENTY EIGHT
what do you mean by that?
Meaning, don't shit where you eat. I saw your other question hun
ok but that doesn't explain it, why are you writing even when you dont have normal answer. I can shit wherever I want.
No, DO NOT DATE COWORKERSDO NOT SHIT WHERE YOU EAT
i bet you are from usa with opinion like this , in my work many people date each other
Doesn't make it rightDONT BE A SHEEP
It's not unusual, it's just terminology. You ARE a young lady to a 50 year old guy.
It's not safe to talk to women anymore.
A man talked to me!!! #MeToo!!!
I'd never say that to any woman. It is a bad sign.
he's 50, ur 28, you are a younge lady,
probably just being kind
Because you are a young lady
No he's just being respectful.
but right after that he pointed at some 38 year old woman and said- this LADY, not young lady.. so it seems he thinks im too young or wants to seem like he is above me like a teacher
I do that a lot doesn't mean he is not interested
I swear so many people overthink things these days
