It means you have sex appeal. It has nothing to do with anything beyond physical attraction. "Hot" implies sexy. Sometimes it can also be applied to a certain type of attitude, but again that's only in regards to physical attraction.
Cute on the other hand is a way of saying physically attractve, but not necessarily because of raw sex appeal.
So in other words, "hot" means she look sexy. Cute means she looks good. It's like the difference between a stripper and a nude model. One is intended to provoke sexual desire, the other is just intended to be naturally beautiful. Not that someone can't be both, but they are used in different contexts.
Neither is really better per se, but generally I think that when a guy calls a girl "hot",(if he's not friends with or dating this girl and just trying to compliment them) then he's just saying she looks sexy and is interested in nothing but her body. "Cute" is kind of a toss-up. It can mean different things for different guys, so it all really depends on the personality of the guy saying it.
Hot means good looking. It could mean he likes her. It could mean he wants to boink her. It's a very popular word. It doesn't tell how the guy feels about the girl, it's just says that she's good looking.
Hot or cute? I don't think one is better than the other, not for me anyway. Both are good in their own ways and I couldn't rank them.
the same thing you mean when you think a guy is hot. but the difference between most men and women, we won't say it outloud. my boyfriend does it in the car or while we are out and it irritates the hell out of me.but you can agree and make a comment about her jeans or you can do the same thing. with me the latter one generates a jealous ping that you feel but for him, and when you do it make sure that he knows its only becasue he does.and it will become less and less frequent.

But when I think a girl is hot, it means like she's in a totally different league. As far as whether he likes her or wants to boink her depends on the guy.
