in my opinion, buns on anyone are utilitarian (and I can appreciate utility), but they're HORRIBLE from a fashion perspective.

How would you feel if a guy wore a tool belt and suspenders on a fancy date? While you can't deny the utility, from a fashion perspective, it's bad, right? That's what a bun is.

If you are working in your garden, or in the attic or basement, and you put your hair up in a bun to keep it out of your face and from getting caught on things, fair enough. But if you are trying to look good, then you are DOING IT WRONG.

95% of men prefer you wear your hair down, and prefer longer hair. This isn't news, and hasn't changed in hundreds of years, and it hasn't changed recently. Of course, you can do what you want with your own hair, but if the goal is to be attractive to men, then a bun is NOT the way to go.
