not so much... dont stand in someones way... restraining someone by force, whether you touch them or not is abuse in itself, so its my opinion that he was only trying to escape the situation...

but there is also this... NO one likes to have someone threaten to leave everytime there is an issue... we all want stability and security in our lives, without our mate giving us ultimatums or threats to try and control us... it has always been my practice (every since I learned it at an early age) to never do this to my mate... and the first time she tries it on me, I let her know my stance and that she can get away with it only once, and after that she lives with the consequences... i won't live in fear of them leaving everytime we have an argument... thats not the way my love and respect for someone works
if they value what I offer, then they shouldn't jeopardize that by threatening me (I believe it to be disrespectful) but if they want to leave, then they dont need to make a threat, just leave and we can BOTH be done with the problem that caused it.

People are thinking even a slight touch as abuse these days.
He shouldn't have thrown you off that way. He probably was angry and you just fueled it by standing in front of him. Some people push away those who stand in their way when they are fuming. The wise option would have been to let him go and then talk it out when he has calmed down

Same thing could be said about you if you tried to leave and your boyfriend prevented you from doing so, holding you captive.

Is not great but at the same time, when someone tells you they need to leave, you shouldn’t stop them. When a person is angry it’s best to give them space until they calm down. It will only cause more anger when you prevent them from having the space they have said they need
