Am I wrong to kick a guy out my house?

Question

We were friends during college before he left to the army and was discharged for personal reasons (never explained) after breaking up with his girlfriend I let him live rent free at mine for the past 2 months on the basis he recovers from his drug addiction and gets a job, he's been clean for about a month but he's not got a job, he's had offers that he's refused and when I ask him he gets pissed to the point of violence and I don't know what to do at this point

After a broken TV and being told I owe him for his protection I kicked him out

To the point of violence is a shout of frustration.
If he can't recover and become functional then drop him
He was aggressive to violence also, that's not someone you should be around.

If its PTSD in his way, please hold his hand through his tough time.

Violence and drug use big concern it’s your place you deserve peace. Definitely sit him down and do a game plan of like in 25 days you’ll have to find another place to stay so he can at least choose to figure out where to go and what to do. If you feel you are truly in danger kick him out ASAP

Not in immediate danger he usually slams doors or throws shit.
Am kinda worried about saying I'm planning to kick him out because of how he reacts.

No planning just tell him to leave make sure you do it and contact someone so they know to check with you if you feel he may react crazy

Absolutely not. The fact that you took him in says a lot about your character, but the violence and lack of motivation on his part boils down to lack of respect. At this point I recommend kicking him out.

You're not wrong. You were being nice to him but he failed to appreciate and respect that. You can only be nice for so long when someone doesn't reciprocate. Sometimes you have to be ruthless. Give yourself a pat on the back instead of feeling bad.

he's had offers that I've passed onto him from friends and he's declined.
I don't know if he's looking at jobs because he just gets mad at me.
And he's been living here for 2 months without paying a penny bar from some food
