1200 calories, burning 500 calories, scared of starvation mode.?

Is it okay to eat 1200-1300 calories if you burn 400-500 calories at the gym?
Also, is it okay not to eat back the burnt calories?
I know the body goes into starvation mode if you eat under 1200 calories so will this happen to my body?

I usually work out late at night and when i get home im not hungry enough to eat back calories.
