Diuretics to drop water weight?

So just as a disclaimer, I'm not trying to use diuretics to lose weight.

I simply had a weekend of drinking alcohol for the 4th of July celebration, and we all know how alcohol makes you retain water like crazy,

I want to take a diuretic just to speed up the process of dropping off the water weight I gained over the weekend (which was like 6 pounds) due to alcohol, carb, and salty food consumption. I will continue my good eating habits, I just want to de-bloat.

Your knowledge of human physiology and your deductions of is mechanics are horribly, horribly flawed. Using diuretics to lose "water weight" gained from "alcohol, carb, and salty food consumption" is an incredibly futile and possibly harmful idea.

Go walk a few miles.

Salty food makes you retain water, and carbohydrates are hydrophilic and therefore hold onto water as well. Both of those together make you retain water. Alcohol tends to dehydrate you but also makes you retain water and many people retain lots of water after a night of drinking.

Diuretics do make you body let go of excess water and salts in your body. Granted, one needs to make sure they are still consuming water so they don't dehydrate themselves and still take vitamins to supplement the loss

I don't know where you come from, but here in the real world alcohol dehydrates you, (that's one of the reasons for hangovers)

alcohol IS a diuretic, I don't think it's "water weight" you put on...

Right? I don't know who told you, question asker, that alcohol makes you retain water, but they are clearly stupid.

When you are dehydrated you do retain water. Google "water retention with alcohol" and you will see I am not the only one. With the amount of weight I put on from it, it could only be water weight. I would have had to have eaten over 30,000 calories to put on 7 pounds.

Granted, alcohol does make you urinate more, but because it dehydrates you, it also causes you to retain water due to the body wanting to hold onto water to prevent harm from dehydration

You need to drink more water. You are retaining water due to dehydration from the alcohol and salty foods by drinking more water you body will realize it does not need to store it and you will debloat.

Just drink lots of water. It passes through you in five minutes, so be prepared to pee a lot :D You are probably just dehydrated.
