I have liked this one guy , let's call him Tod, for about 5 years but we went to different schools. Now one of my friends, Ricky (who plays sports with Tod), is constantly asking me who I like when about three weeks ago I told him that I like Tod. Ricky and I have known each other for a couple years and even used to like each other 2 years ago but one person never told the other. Ricky and I talk about everything from religion to politics to old crushes. He is amazingly funny and I can always count on him to crack me up.
Tod on the other hand: I really liked Tod when we went elementary school together but we were still really young and I was never sure if he liked me, although one of my best friends is certain he did. I see him occasionally at jazz festivals and we'll be going to the same school this year. I can't always remember why I still like Tod, since I don't get to see him often, but the few times I do see him, I kinda remember why. But without having spent quality time with him over the past couple years, I feel as if I don't know him after all.
So I guess my question is this: should I take the opportunity while I have it to tell Ricky how I feel or should I still wait to see if I like Tod?
-Sorry if this was too long :)

Ok, and Ricky told me yesterday that he had ended things with his 'girlfriend' even though they weren't exactly dating, she had just liked him for a really long time. and then he said that he liked someone else anyway. plus he asks all the time who I like

The thing is if you get to know “tod” all over again, sense it has been so long, you might realize he isn’t what you thought. So you would be upset if you passed up ricky. So I say go with ricky and see what happened and if anything when you start going to school with tod start talking to him and catch up on things. Just go with what you feel is right and it will work its self out. Do what makes you happy! good luck
why not go out with ricky since you've know him longer. But then again, if you and ricky don't work, you'll be messing up a great friendship that'll probably change.
Why don't you just go ahead and approach this tod guy and tell him how you feel and see what happens. it's worth a shot and you'll still have your friend ricky around, in case you want to try him out next.
why not just be forward with ricky and just ask him who he likes, instead of assuming and then see where you all can go from there.
