I tried to like cauliflower but I just can't unless it is doused with Indian spices. I can eat broccoli, cabbage, etc. but not cauliflower. You really covered everything well. Deprivation for me was a big problem so the tapering down slowly worked much better for me.
@sejla Thanks. I dislike cauliflower. It’s the only vegetable I find hard to eat regardless how it’s prepared. I like cabbage, especially spicy cabbage. From time to time I eat broccoli.

In general, I don't really like the value of imposing big dietary restrictions on people. It's like if I see someone drinking six-packs of sodas a day, there's a world of room for improvement without having to suggest something as extreme and as risky (in terms of them failing to stick to it) as keto. So I'd rather just suggest they cut down on the sodas for a start. If they can't switch to water right away, maybe require them to drink a glass of water for every can of soda they drink. If they can sustain that, maybe increase to two glasses of water for every can of soda, until they've eliminated it and predominantly drink water. If they work modestly this way and only make steps as big as they can sustain, they can still sustain a huge distance with lots of teeny steps, and perhaps get all the way to keto at some point if that's their nutrition goal. But I prefer a low-risk strategy that involves a smooth transition, not an abrupt and jarring transformation in one go.

You could ask if they can put your healthy food options in the kitchen. That’s what I do when I stay with people who don’t eat healthy
I try but they just don't budge sadly. Their excuse everytime is "Don't like it then leave" smh.
Say it's because your doctor told you to watch your intake of high fat or sugary food next time you stay with them. You can just buy your groceries without telling them beforehand and put your initials on the packages. I'm a savage sorry but no one comes between me and what I eat :P
cheat days don't work for me. Just every once in a while but if I did a cheat day once a week it would get me back to eating badly and also make me feel a bit lousy.
@sejla exactly, when im dieting, i will sometimes cheat, but never on specific days.
thats exactly what i said but its not just sugar its carbs as well like pizza or tacos or macaroni and bread
