It is good to have someone to talk to when feeling strong emotions, or at least some constructive way of venting same. Keeping it all on the inside, all of the time, is unhealthy; you may become a walking time bomb.
I might be one of those who share an unpopular opinion about this one. Emotion isn't a physical thing so there isn't too much hard work required to get rid of them or make a deal out of them. For your mind however, different emotions hold different values. It all depends on you on how much importance an emotion holds for you. What might be truly valuable to you wouldn't even cross someone's mind. Bottling them up can be good or bad depending on how you take it. You may realise it later that an emotion you had at a certain point of time wasn't worthy or you end up regretting for not opening up. Besides, who do you look forward to open up to? Parents? Siblings? Close friends? SO? Or anyone who cares about you, right? What if you don't have anyone of them? To me, bottling up doesn't seem like a big deal but to many, it is. If you really feel like venting your emotions but don't consider someone worthy of it, write it. Don't show it to anyone but just keep it to yourself. Write whatever you feel is inside of you.
It's good in the short term but will have consequences later if not undone
Depends on your outlet for them, it's not good to only bottle them up but sometimes you have to, can't just cry in the middle of work or anything like that ya know? So let it all out in some way when you can.
By me keeping my mouth shut about most things it has kept me employed and my family still talking to me.
Mostly it doesn't end well.
Its very bad.One must get rid of them.
