As time goes on, more women than men seem to be suffering from mental illness, is modernization hostile to women?

Modernization is often associated with urbanization, coincidentally mental illness is more prevalent in urban environment than in the countryside. Therefore there is perhaps a correlation between urbanization/modernization and mental illness.

Secondly, there are basically no historical references to various mental illnesses that exist (eating disorders, depression, self harm) because in the old world people didn't suffer nearly as much from mental health problems are modern counterparts.
