How to get used to running on treadmill without holding on?

I know this sounds silly but i really love going to the gym doing cardio and other exercises however when i run i can't seem to take my hands off the bar infront because my body looses balance and i will end up becoming dizzy and fall to the side, but it is preventing me from running quicker and longer, even though i enjoy cardio i would like to get it done quicker, if anyone else has had this problem before, i would appreciate any advise on how to over come this.
