Is it a parent's fault if their obese child remains obese as an adult?

Is it a parents fault if their obese child remains obese as an adult?
People like to quickly point at someone who is obese and put the blame squarely on them and poor health habits, but in the case of children who were essentially made obese as children by parents who also made poor health choices for themselves and their children, in adulthood, is the blame squarely on that child now adult for their poor health or is it the parents fault? A lot of our behaviors especially around food, health, and our bodies are learned from an early age, and if no one has ever encouraged good health for you, or shown you how to eat healthy, can we expect that adult to just figure it all out after a life time of poor habits?
