Why do most people want to look athletic rather than be athletic?

I've seen & been around many people who are ripped or at least toned with vascularity but there jumping, running, just overall anything relating to athletics like agility & good reflexes are down right terrible

a lot of these people are MAD LEAN but are literally slow in their movements

I've got love handles & a slight belly but my vertical jump, reflexes,& agility are better than theirs

I even have more stamina than them

I went for a 2 mile RUN... not jogging on actual pavement with a few Meatheads who were SHREDDED & they gassed up not even half a mile

I've got love handles & slight belly but was able to RUN 2 miles on open field
Why do most people want to look athletic rather than be athletic?
