It's actually not all that healthy. Really how much a person should drink needs to be based off of their diet, body size, environment, and activity level.Drink to much and you retain water. I used to over hydrate drastically (odd sense of thirst).
But I don't think 4litters is that much, as long as he does it gradually and not from day one

The issue is more his age. If he was a fully grown adult man there is no way 4 liters would be enough to have any ill affects. The issue is a 15 -year old brit might have a hard time keeping that much. When you strenuously exercise it can be hard to drink that much without getting sick.He's also trying to build muscle, that could be an issue because water takes up enough space to dull hunger. I know I have a hard time eating enough to get my fill of protein.But for most adults you're correct, the worse you'll have is frequent urination.
