How to approach ADHD or ADD?

So where I live mental illnesses or problems are like a fantasy no one believes in them, and most people think that if you complain about a mental disorder, then you're just lazy. I am having severe problems with my short-term memory that many of my friends pointed out several times. I can't focus at a task for long periods of time, neither can I do something that requires long thinking like solving problems... etc. I feel like it is getting worse, and I am really having a difficulty learning, which made me go suicidal, and hate myself. I told my family several times, but they still believe I am either lazy, or just looking for an excuse. I need help, and did research but dont know how to approach this. Please leave anything that my help. Thanks for your time, reading this.
