Can you believe a few guys downvoted this?
@douride2 Yeah the snowflakes downvoted me.. Sadly they are users on herethat do not stay on GAG long just to troll
Thanks For Most Helpful Guy :)
Just hilarious. If you don't get it you have to wear a mask. LMAO
Right? I'm already wearing a mask all the time at my job because of this epidemic, so what's the difference? LOL. She thought I was being a smartass and just trying to get out of getting the shot. But there's really no difference if you get the shot or not!
Health reasons are the only reason I get it.
I hear you...

Could just be coincidence. That's why they do effectiveness studies with large samples of people to come to a statistical reliable answer. Just one example doesn't prove anything. Check fallacy #8 in this nice list: blog.hubspot.com/.../common-logical-fallacies
That must have sucked eh.
It wasn't fun. I have my twice annual "when the heat goes off and on" sniffles and phlegm-balls every spring and fall, so I know I'm stuck with that since I have some genetic sinus problems. My wife and I just felt totally beat up in late January 2020- no fever, no aches, just weary. We're assuming we fought off some SARS. Now I test negative for active virus though- needed the test before getting cleared for some surgery.
God luck with your health.
Can you link me to some of these facts you say are out there?
I was told that by two naturist doctors and I never said I have a link to some bullshit. But, you are a big girl that I am sure is proficient in Google, (better another unblocked search engine) so if you are concerned about it either way, I am sure you can find the predisposed answer you seek via the internet. If you find something interesting, let me know.
Honestly I don't care either way if people get it or not. AS for the links thing. You were the one that said you had just found out getting the shot every year weakens the immune system. I was only wondering where the info came from.
Nothing is 100% effective. It is your choice though. It's a free country.
The flu vaccines offer FAR less than 100% protection against the different strains of the flu. According to a February, 2020 report by the American Academy of Family practitioners, "the current influenza vaccine has been 45% effective overall against 2019-2020 seasonal influenza A and B viruses. Specifically, the flu vaccine has been 50% effective against influenza B/Victoria viruses and 37% effective against influenza A (H1N1) pdm09." And it was not designed to protect against any other strains of the flu. That is FAR from 100 effective!
I wasn't disagreeing with you.
I understand. I added that comment because I think most people assume the flu vaccine prevents you from getting the flu.
Yep yep yep.
I thought about that myself but still chose to get it.
The few times I have got it there was never much of a reaction.
Can’t tell you how enormously relieved I was.. but I can tell you it was enormous relief 😛
Its still a free country. Your choice.
I'm not judging anyone. It's your choice.
oh i hope i didn't imply you were judging.
Its a free country. do as you please
I don't quite follow you on this.
Thats fine! No problem... i will delete my opinion so i don't create confusion.
No need to delete .
Yes health care pays for it here to.
I am kind of in the same boat as you.
I got mine for health reasons.
Very wise, girl. My sister as well, Dad too. xx
Yes it seems to be they are kind of short. I was lucky to get in.
I wonder who the guy is running through here & downvoting all who aren't getting a shot?
Not sure. If I had to guess it would be Browneye57.
That is so true this year.
They say that it can happen.
Its happened too much here so thats why i pass on it and will continue to do so unless it becomes mandatory
Your in the safe group.
Yea we are making all the shareholder very rich eh.
I get you there.
I always get a flu shot
@itsmeamy thats good but i never felt the need before as much as i do now and ofcourse its free here in the uk which is a bonus
What are they short on flu shots there?
They say the older we get the worse the flu is for us.
It is free in Canada.
It’s most likely free in the US at a clinic I just don’t have time enough to look.
Don’t get it, almost everyone who got covid had the flu jab there is a link
@Shamalien maybe I'll run away from my cage this time
@Shamalien gotta run before they get us
Just tell em u ain't gettn the shot and that it does more harm than good
@Shamalien Can we have a link to this info?
I don't know why it's always up to me to find the links, do your own research, do not use google, use another search engine. www.disabledveterans.org/.../
should be noted that almost 4billion has been paid out from vaccine injuries related to flu shot, and that only 1% of vaccine injuries are estimated to be reported at all, so really, do not take that shit
@douride2 my lungs are damaged after taking vaccine.. 😕
Now that just sucks terrible. Will you recover or is this a forever thing.
@Shamalien Because you were the guy who said it does more damage then good.
It's a forever thing, it's been several years I still get attacks 😕
I didn't know this.
@douride yea we scientists and clinicians need to do a better job getting this information out. The egg based one isn't always the best option due to H3N2 strain. H3N2, one of the most prélevant strains of influenza doesn't grow well in eggs. Therefore the immunity wanes faster than H1N1 or the lineages of B flus
I never got the flu shot when I was younger either.
Yeah, it makes sense for some people, not against it at all for that reason. Some people are more eager to get it this year after covid, which makes zero sense, as if they somehow work together.
We have a smart one here guys.
I can only remember getting the flu once myself.
Vaccines have been around longer then you have. Unless your older then you say?
Its your choice though.
That is to bad that happens to you.
Why would you say that?
Because im not an idiot
They should never try to pressure you into anything.
Yeah I knew he probably wasn't supposed to be doing that 😆 he was cute tho so I forgive him hhehee
I’ve never heard of the risk outweighing the benefits for flu shots in younger people. Can you give more information?
I never got a shot till a few years back.
I would love too but unfortunately it's in german since it is the German government who puts those recommendation out every year. They only recommend that you should get vaccinated of you are over 60, if you are at risk because of other illnesses like an HIV infection, if you are pregnant or if you have lots of contact with people who are at risk or an healthcare worker. For others it is not recommended since there wouldn't be enough vaccines and the risks would outweigh the benefits.www.rki.de/.../faq_ges.htmlInterestingly the CDC for instance is also recommending vaccination for kids. I am just sticking to what my government says even though I doubt that I would have any complications.
Best to do what the professionals say.
Yeah I think so as well.
I'm not judging anyone.
It’s tiny and it’s in the atm and you don’t feel it.
But there are medicines that hit you in the ATM. 😂
No it's very small & in the arm. I'm a wimp & didn't even feel it.
LOL love how a joke sparked the entire conversation
If they tell you to drop your pants and they have no needle, you better run faster!
I haven't had it in a few years but did this year.
Ok, seems like a good idea
I mean if it was free, I might consider it, but since it is oh-so-not free, why bother?
I did get the tick encephalitis shots this year, and besides being fucking expensive, they hurt as fuck. But encephalithis hurts more :D and I was out and about a LOT this summer. Didn't get tick bitten, though.
My shoulder was a little sensitive for a night or 2 if I lay on it. Nothing much though.
I had a terrible reaction with a high fever and a serious muscle reaction. I have a teeny tiny mutation that renders me immune to some viral diseases. On the flip side, what I am not immune to, terrorizes me properly.
Great on you.
Just remember your getting older every year now.
This is true
Is there a shortage in the UK
Not as far as I know but I don't view myself as a priority unless it is something in regards to making money, saving money or spending money
I am not judging anyone. Its your choice just don't push your beliefs on others.
well i will push my believe on those that try to force me to get vaccinated. i will decide for myself what vaccines i want. i'm not a laboratory mouse.everyone has to run a risk/benefit calculation for every vaccine individually and the result of that calculation is not always "get the vaccine".i advocate for calculating your own risk. i don't condone same rules for everyone in this regard (unless the rule is to decide yourself).
Decide for yourself is pretty much what I have always said.
yeah... as long as you're granted that right.
It still cuts the % back though.
I have a weak immune system and the shots make me feel as if I have the flu in and of itself lol
Good to be you eh.
Yes it seems to be in short supply all over.
I got lucky & was in early.
Do I hear a conspiracy theory coming to life?
Stay tuned for 2021!
Thats great for you eh.
Health care pays for it her. In reality it's our own tax $ paying.
Thats what you're immune system is for. You need to build up a tolerance to viruses or else you will get sick very easily.
I wonder the same.
@lrichl there is no immunity to the flu
@lrichl And getting a vaccine exposes you to a dead or weaken version version of the virus, which protects you from getting that strain of the flu.
Ah yea your still young.
No I fine with my own immune
I don't blame you for getting it eh.
Yes but your young & healthy.
I didn't for years then got the flu right at Christmas a few years back. It was nasty.
The benefit was not getting the flu.
@grapefruit11 Which even if i get it isn't that bad and has to be the correct strain anyway. Its not really shown the shot is effective and can even be detrimental to your immune system as the wuhan flu has shown with people with shorts more likely to get the harmful overreaction.
I don't blame you for not getting the shot if you have a bad reaction to it.
I was just wondering what benefits you were expecting to see other than not getting the flu lol. I know it’s not super effective but if you didn’t get the flu that year, I’m not sure what benefits you feel you missed out on?
@grapefruit11 The benefit of not getting sick that year, flu vaccines work on such a limited amount of strains i'd be certain to get sick from the vaccine and risk side effects from the other stuff they put in those to trigger the immune response. Versus a chance of not being really ill for a week if they predicted the strains correctly. Its just not worth it.
Well good for you.
So if you get sick your not getting treatment then?
I don't understand, what do you mean?
If you get very sick with the flu will you go to a hospital?
Go to the hospital for the flu? That's absurd. What are they gunna do? I would only ever go to the hospital if it was a real emergency, like got hit by a car or something
Been there done that. The being hit by a car. I do know of people going to the hospital with the flu though.
nobody should be going to the hospital for the flu unless they are really old and frail, and even then, I'd avoid it at all costs. Hospitals often do more harm than good and should only be visited in the utmost desperation like if you are literally bleeding out
Yes I had spinal surgery this August. They were pushing me out the door in about 24 hrs. The doc says he didn't want me to get any infections in there. Imagine that eh.
yah it's a dangerous place, avoid at all costs. Stay fit and healthy, go vegan
I never got one till a few years back. Health issues now.
