Since I was a child, I've been able to function on little sleep. Nowadays, I sleep 5 hours a night, but even back then, I could go days without sleeping (which severely stunted my growth to only 181 cm, I suspect, so I don't recommend it). So I can - and have - gone weeks without sleeping. Like, two full weeks, plus an extra day or two. My body can self-recharge, or maybe I have photosynthesis solar-powered skin or something. But yeah, I used to be able to go 14+ days or more without sleep, and even nowadays at nearly thirty-four years old, can go 36-48 hours without sleep. Again, I don't really recommend it, though.
I was traveling by bus to a foreign country. I woke up that morning early to prepare, at like 8 am, prepared, made the trip (can't sleep while traveling) arriving around 9 am the other morning, didn't sleep all day, because everything was pre-scheduled. I also find it hard to sleep at someone elses house, and I was sleeping at a strangers house whose son was to be my guide at the school, so I didn't sleep that night also, and the entire day after. But I didn't feel so bad, because we explored a lot of things, and the whole time we did something interesting. I could barely wake up the following morning though.
20 to 24 hours, my teacher decided to add some extra portions for our pathophysiology exam on the eve of the exam, so I had to cover it. And I didn't sleep, I slept after next day's exam lol

Without mind/body altering substances, or chemical helps, I can stay awake for two days. I’m pretty useless after about 36-38 hours.
