Generally I’m relaxed and happy.
I like to think the reason is because of “me”. I struggled a lot mentally and emotionally as a kid. My parents weren’t good at addressing or handling those types of things. Pretty much whenever I mentioned depression I was told I was being overly sensitive.
I attempted suicide at 18 and in the middle of it I wanted to take it back. I tried to overdose. When it hit me I wanted to live, I had already invested too much medication. I didn’t know this until I woke up in the middle of the night in excruciating pain and dizziness. As you can probably tell, I failed
Making a long story short I realized I didn’t want to die but that I was really unhappy. I wanted to kill the sadness but didn’t know what happiness meant to me. I tried finding it through romantic relationships and sex and when that didn’t work I got depressed. After my attempt I made a mission to find out what happiness was “to me” and how it was obtained.
After a lot of reading, meditation, watching videos and even a couple of therapy sessions I made a 180. I haven’t had severe depression in close to 10 years and my first suicide attempt was my one and only. My happiness comes from the inside and me being able to recognize myself enough to see the things in me that I should be happy about.
I love myself. That’s the main reason why my baseline mood is relaxed and happy.

I'm usually happy although I do ponder things a lot. But when I'm not feeling well there's always a reason for it even if I can't fully understand the reason at the time I'll figure it out eventually but I'm never just sad or depressed. I don't really know why that is I've been that way since I was born I was always happy and fascinated/excited by the world. Life has taken a certain toll on me, given me a lot of struggles, made me a bit harder of a person in a few places but I'm still the same at the core.
The only time when I wake up and feel bad is when I feel hopeless because I'm stuck in some situation and I don't know what to do, when I don't have a plan/vision for the future because something is blocking me. But it usually clears itself up and I'm alright again :)

I tend to be a cynical person (Big surprise, right?) For the most part, I am laid back, easy going, and get along with most people, but I can be snarky and cynical as well- as most regulars on here already know.
As for why? My environment, or rather whom I interact with. If I'm left alone or talk to people I enjoy talking to, I'm a nice, quiet person. But if I'm dealing with nonsense? See my username, lol.
If 10 was ecstatic and 0 is suicidal, I usually baseline somewhere between a 4 and 5. If I had to put words to it, melancholic and pessimistic would be a good start. The reason is easy, manic-depressive type 2 and the meds I'm on aren't ideal but they've kept me the most stable with the fewest negative side effects of any of the other 7 drug combos I've tried so far so I'll settle for it. Being happy is overrated, I get way more work done when I'm slightly depressed and pissed off at the world, or when I'm in a hypomanic phase and am awake for 3-5 days straight. It's amazing how much more time you have to get stuff done if you don't sleep!

I am Eeyore, and he is not the depressing, melancholy one that most think! There are a few that understand Eeyore, and know he is a REALIST! He simply accepts life, and maybe would like something better, but he accepts the 'hand he was dealt' and makes the best of it, when everyone thinks he is just some depressing ass! LOL!! Idiots!! :) :)

I'd say I'm more of a go with the flow person. Right now I'm kinda stressed in life, I live with a roommate that is closely monitoring my life and I have to go from that to a high stress level job. I'm kinda just I'd say... Just trying to get through each day currently... 😞

Happy but not being dramatic about it. I've always been optimistic. And I can be because I don't blame others for my problems so I know that any problem is something I can solve or get around.

Happy! I try to put my best foot forward and I like friendly people myself.
I think that most of the times it's nothing more than a front - the kind I used to put up to 'hide' how I feel. I've got my reasons now more than ever.
