Does anybody not have health insurance cause you can't afford it?

And your screwed if you get seriously sick or injured? I'm in this situation : / And I work full time but my job doesn't offer benefits. I know people who lost their homes due to medical debt. I always worry about whether this will ever happen to me. Anyone else?

The Republi****s are too stubborn and vain to allow free healthcare to pass. I seriously hate America now. Partisan politics are holding us below our true potential. I'm moving out of the country as soon as my wife gets her schoolwork done with. To be honest, I have no idea how that will work out. But I know for a fact that it's necessary.

The US spends twice as much money on our current system than any other industrialized nation in the world and yet we get less in return. If even places like cuba can afford to insure all their citizens than why can't the richest nation in the world?

First off you can afford health insurance, but you probably haven't looked. Just assuming that it's beyond your means is ignorant, and even if you can't afford a great plan, doesn't mean that you should just blame the country for not providing everything for you.

I'm glad I don't have to worry about this. But still, I do have to pay for some medications out of pocket, and they can get expensive. It's not like I have much of a choice anyway, I have to take those medications.

I know people argue 'socialised' health care has its serious flaws, and it would be hard to deny that. But it's been pretty brilliant for me. I've popped down to my local hospital and not waited more than 5 minutes even without an appt. And of course, even if you have to wait, for the emergency or serious stuff they prioritise. I fear I have a serious medical condition and am soon to visit my GP. I'm quite relaxed about if. If I lived over there I'd be f***ed! I'm fit, young and active.

Everyone in America talks about how bad the candian system supposedly is. How there's super long waiting times and you can't choose your doctor, the government rations everything blah blah blah. Well it sure must be nice to know your covered no matter what even if you loose your job and won't ever be denied or go bankrupt. Fuc.k it I'm hoping the border lol

Haha yeah. I know if heathcare wasn't free my family would be poor or my father wouldn't have had any heathcare that he needed. The waits are long for certain things, yes. But I know that if there is something wrong with meI can go to the emergency room and not worry about how much it is costing my family. It is a comfort :)

Your lucky. Its not exactly "free" cause you pay for it through your taxes. But I would prefer that any day of the week over our corrupt system.
