Are bigger girls dieting gross?

Hey I am 5'3" and 144 lbs. I am dieting I want to weight about 115-120lbs. I have a youtube, blog and twitter about my diet. If you look at the youtube you can see me. Am I gross for wanting to be skinny.

Please help. I not asking you to go to the pages but girls and guys is it gross that I want to be skinny to feel pretty?

Its not gross, but it does show that you have much deeper problems than just a few pounds.

I don't know your frame size, but 144 pounds is not that bad, and to be honest, 120 pounds may be too skinny for your frame, I'm about 2 inches shorter than you, and I could never weight 120 pounds without looking sick.

About 6 years ago I was 15 pounds heavier, and I felt bad, and ugly. Losing that 15 pounds didn't do a whole lot. Yeah I feel better generally and more confident than before, but that is more age and experience. I still get down on myself and get obsessive about food and weight loss.

Happiness comes from within, not pounds lost on a scale.

Look, I'm not saying not to lose weight, all I'm saying is do it for the right reasons. Do it for health and do it to get toned and in shape, not to just "be pretty."

This is gonna benefit you longterm. When you cut out food completely to fast, your body adjusts and slows down your metabolism. Then when you start to eat again your body will be in "survival mode" and try to store more fats so it doesn't starve again. What I think would be a good way to cut down on weight is do an hour of cardio a day, half an hour in the morning when you wake up and another half hour at night. As far as diet goes, you can eat pretty much anything but stay away from bread, pasta and fast food. If you want more help to lose weight properly just let me know.

I'm not sure losing 30 pounds will be enough, but close. I think you need to put on a little bit of muscle to help fill out the 115 or so, if not you'll have to get down to like 105.

it's not gross at all! you go girl and lose the weight. I applaud you for starting to diet before it gets really out of control like if you were obese rather than just overweight. nothing wrong with wanting to lose weight to feel pretty, I've done that too!

Honestly, good for you. Getting in shape is a wonderful thing. I like your idea of blogging about it because it could help other girls who are trying to do the same thing feel like they're not alone in their struggles.

its not gross, not in anyway what so ever hunny. Its actually a very healthy weight and it will make you healthier in the long run as long as you loose the weight in a manner that is not dangerous. have fun and be safe

Absolutely nothing wrong with losing weight to be healthy. Or even losing weight to look good. Anybody thinking that is gross is a moron. Best of luck to you ;)
