Eating in a restaurant alone?

I've eaten in food courts and fast food places alone, because I'm often travelling or out doing things alone and gotta eat somewhere. When I'm out at a restaurant I always kind of feel like the people eating alone feel awkward. I really want to go eat at this place tomorrow but I don't really have the time to meet up with any friends to go because I have a pretty tight schedule tomorrow. Would it be weird of me to go eat alone? What would you think if you saw someone sitting alone at a restaurant? Ever done it?

I spend every Sunday alone wondering about the city. Why? because I enjoy it. I like going out without the burden of having to focus my attention on the people I'm with. I've had countless meals alone and often enjoy being in my own company then with another.

You view people who do such things as feeling awkward because you yourself would feel awkward. It's called self projection and we almost all do it. It doesn't make it true though. I feel no discomfort in eating alone at a restaurant. Further more, who cares if people view it as weird. If we all knew how little others thought about us perhaps we would stop caring.

You have to understand that everyone nowadays doesn't care,but themselves and what is going on in their lives. I'm a loner and could care less about what other randoms think about me. If I seen an attractive women eating alone I would say hey want to talk to that one and see where it goes. Its okay to do things by yourself.

I work at a restaurant when I go home for the holidays and I I've worked there for a couple years at least. You'd be surprised how often people come in to eat and they are by themselves.

Sometimes I feel pretty awkward when I have to go eat out in public by myself. Sometimes I feel like a loser cause it seems like everyone else is able to get a friend to go with them. But I just tell myself that they probably don't even notice me and if they did, they wouldn't care. A lot of times I have to go eat and I don't have time to coordinate a meeting with someone else so I go alone.

It's only weird if you think it is. If you're a confident person without many insecurities then dining alone shouldn't be an issue for you. I've gone out by myself for lunch before, it's no big deal. When I see an elderly person eating alone it makes me feel bad for them because I know their loved ones are probably dead... but other than that I never think much of it.

Yes, living in a city I often eat alone and sometimes prefer it. I don't think it's weird at all; I only think it's weird that others find it weird. You should definitely not be afraid to try it simply because you are concerned of what others may think of you. Try it at least once.

I've never done it, but I used to work at a restaurant and you would be surprised how many people actually eat alone. Just bring something to read and you'll be fine.

go eat at that restaurant girl! ha ha I see no reason why it would be bad, I see people eating alone at restaurants a lot and I think nothing of it
