Can you have too much protein?...and what's some good variations on bicep/tricept workouts?

i have been working out and playing lacrosse for almost 6 years now, I was wondering if anyone knew any medical conditions to be worried about using a long term supplement of protein, like whey, and other alternatives to meat, like yogurts and health bars, protein shakes, smoothies with protein, etc. etc.

my workout is pretty vigorous and I have gained a lot of muscle mass is my core and my back, but not so much on my chest and arms, I used to wrestle and I am training to fight mixed martial arts in the off season.
Can you have too much protein?...and what's some good variations on bicep/tricept workouts?
