Feel incredibly taken for a ride, really thought this guy liked me :(

We flirted and he initiated contact and I wasn't too bothered at first but he continued to show interest in me and I then started to like him back.

Just recently tried to get into contact with him via Facebook and he's totally ignored my messages. I'm quite shocked by this its not like its a 'go on a date with me' message just a 'hey how are you?' and I feel as though he made me fall for him and then bailed when I reciprocated the feelings in return. I feel awful and I'm finding it hard to get over him, because he acted liked the 'nice' guy :(

Why do guys do this? act all interested, then back off when you want to take things further? are show interest back?

Who knows...I've wondered this same thing with so many guys. They're all interested in you one minute, then the next ignore you and blow cold.

Ultimately, you just have to chalk it up to them being lame. It could be a number of things that cause him to not respond (a girl, family troubles, work, just doesn't care) but I've learned that it's not worth it to worry and wonder about it. Move on and set your sights on the next guy. If this guy just so happens to contact you, feel free to entertain it but tread lightly.

At least he didn't literally take you for a ride. Maybe it's just something serious that happened and he needs to solve first. Life isn't easy. Maybe he's having a hard time.

I guess that could be a possibility but I doubt it tbh, he could at least reply don't you think?

Is he a shy lad? Maybe he's not sure that you like him that way?...a "hey how are you" message doesn't really tell him that you like him. Us guys need it pretty much spelt out for us in big bold letters so we get the picture. I'm currently in a situation where she knows that I like her, but I'm not sure if she likes me...Im always the one making contact first and we might text for hours but she never contacts me so I'm in limbo...do I yet again text first or do I wait and maybe never hear from her again! Who knows!

No he can't be shy because he approached me, but yeah I'm not gonna blurt out 'I like you' until he's at least replied to my general message. you see?

In your case, if I like a guy I make the effort to contact, that clearly goes unnoticed haha! boo!
