Opinions on anabolic steroids?

My other half wants to start taking Methandrostenolone (trade names Averbol, Dianabol, Danabol), also known as metandienone (INN) in bodybuilding.

I don't feel too pleased but at the same time it's his body and he had taken them before prior to meeting me.

- Do you think it's fair to use them?
- Have you ever taken steroids?
- What steroids did you take?
- Do you think it's unprofessional?

I've never taken them but I have researched them.

First off, if he does decide to, do NOT take oral steroids. The liver will thank you big time!

Now with that said, he will get bigger and all that, but eventually, he'll have to stop. The other problem is that if he doesn't keep up with the exercise he does while taking the steroids, he won't keep his gains. He'll enjoy them now, but most likely pay for it after the usage. It can come to a point where a doctor may force him to go off the steroids just to keep his health. So these gains are really only there for as long as he's on them... and he will have to stop the usage at some point.

Other issues is that he can take them improperly which can lead to issues like "man tits" and such.

As for things like being tested for them, those would only really be in big name competitions, I don't recall employers testing for steroid use as I hear the testing's insanely expensive.

I'm doing it the 'hard way' cause I'd also researched on these AB steroids and the results came up cropper.

Problems versus benefits
1. Problem 1: ABS screw around with your regular system like hair growth, sexual libido, erectile dysfunction, causes cancer, causes balding, gets your liver screwed up bad... the list goes on
2. When you take ABS (oral or injected) you also need to take meds to counter the effects of those and this is critical
3. The moment you stop using ABS at the best if you are lucky your body is going to come back to what it was. Cause worse can happen :)

The above is my answer to 'do you think it's fair to use them' and this is not about fairness in some sport, it's about being fair to yourself, those who care for you and those who depend on you.

No I toyed with the idea but decided against it. I'll do it alright but the hard way :D

Wow what a load of drama lol. Now go look at the possible. side effects for taking too much vitamin c and tell me they arnt any worse.

Steroids are very safe and cause little issues if any when used in a sensible and educated way.

It's ok to take them as long as he is fully aware of all possible positive effects and possible negative effects.

I think it's unnecessary. Anyone can do it naturally. I don't really respect pure bodybuilding. It's pure aesthetics over function and strength.

I did a literature review on steroids a couple years ago. As long as he cycles it and doesn't over dose he should be okay. It is only unprofessional if he is looking to compete in competition. If he is doing it for himself just remind him to take it for a short time and not to rely on it

I dont take steroids and I am a big Biology person. Its not fair to use them, for competition or for himself. He's cheating himself and he wants progress without trying hard enough. Since he already took them, he can't say that he's natural, so its easier to start back up. Its extremely unprofessional. You pay more for steroids than you do from winning a bodybuilding tournament.

I think steroids are good as long as they are used correctly.
Yes i have used steroids in the past and want to do them again with my friends and his girlfriend.
I have used TRENBOLONE, ANAVAR, ANADROL, DECA. My friend girlfriend did gain a lot of muscle size and strength with little to no bad effects. I think most pro athlete takes some form of steroid or muscle enhancement.
I think its fair and professional as long as the person is honist about there usage. 💪

Don't take them. I have to from time to time to replenish my spinal fluids and reduce inflammation, and I get very sick from it. If he's doing it to build muscle, he's stupid. Cheating in life doesn't get you very far.
