Sigh.. I could have bought tequila with that money 🙄
It’s just not a thing her in NZ so very expensive
That’s the small frozen one the big fresh guy was $120 plus
Prices are up here to but not that crazy, I saw them on for about $2.39 lb. That was frozen. Not much for fresh around here. Last year turkey was $1.79 I'm sure.
Just curious how did your turkey turn out? Great I hope?
It was moist n flavoursome:)... turns out I just don’t like the flavour 😂😂 but our guests really enjoyed it, they said it tasted like Christmas... that can be a bad thing.
Then we shall say it was a success.
Nah, shit just costs more Down Under...
Things cost that much more?
Yep. A mate of mine who lives in Sydney says it's mega expensive. Worse than London.
@CaptainSmartass that’s the small frozen one the fresh guy was $130
Sound's like a wide open market for a turkey farmer...🤔
@Andres77 we just don’t eat them unless we are really poor and we eat the wild ones amd they’re free so 🤷♀️
How cheap is 🥩 lamb?
Half the price of turkey
@wittymilf Jesus Henry Christ!! You'd be better off with a chook.
@CaptainSmartass hmm o bought one of those to just incase turkey is gross 🤢
What's a chook?
@spartan55 A chook is a chicken.
@CaptainSmartassThat was a very 'ignorant American' question from me... thank you!
@spartan55 You're welcome. There's no such thing as a stupid question. Over lockdown, I've been watching a lot of Australian TV shows, so I've learnt a bit of the slang.
@CaptainSmartass you bro’s know what a root is?
How did your bird turn out?
@Andres77 actually nailed it! It was a hit
Congrats.How far do live from Hobbiton?
@wittymilf I'm afraid I haven't heard of that one...
@Andres77 hobbiton is nearer the top of the north island.. I’m near to the bottom is about 5-6 hour drive I 🤔 think. I’ve never been
@CaptainSmartass that’s kiwi for sex. Example “Chur bro your mums hot as we are off for a root 😎”
@wittymilf Interesting. A root is a shag...
@CaptainSmartass yup bonking :)
Make sure you have a metal thermometer to check the calendar internal temperature. Find one that you can leave in the turkey while it cooks.And a baster.We leave ours covered in aluminum foil for most of the cooking, then take a he foil off and baste it as it browns for another hour or so. Internal temperature for turkey is 165 or 170.The thermometer in, covered in foil, when the internal temperature hits 165 take the foil off and baste the outside of the turkey every 15 minutes.Faranheit... I don't know the celsius temperature without checking.Start early! Give yourself enough time to cover mistakes. The thermometer removes all doubt... essential I'd say. I'll never cook a turkey without it.Good luck
I don’t even know where I’d find one of those temperature guys!
You have to have a store that sells kitchen appliances and cooking utensils...🤨
Argh it’s a battlefield out there...
But fine 🙄I’ll do it
Yup it’s Christmas Eve 🤷♀️
There’s goes another $45 tjis turkey better be amazin
What cost another$45? 😳

I’m gonna need your support today. It’s turkey day!! Merry Christmas
