Soon after the clock strikes in the new year it's common to link up and sing Auld Lang Syne or at least attempt too. No one ever remembers the words and just repeats the first two lines over and over.

I actually hate that song. Instead of singing it, Guy Lombardo should be burned in effigy on New Years.
That being said, bc (before covid), friends of ours would have a karaoke party at their house on New Years Eve. That was fun. Except they always subjected us to that song at the stroke of midnight. We didn't do it this year because our friends have become Branch Covidian cultists.
