the only reason why someone ever would be against gay marriage is because its part of the liberal agenda and they themselves do not approve of liberals. they dont really care if gays can marry or not, they just are against liberalism.
there's just these people that have to make everything about politics and agendas and whatever. its just a political battle.
I think that same sex marriage shouldn't affect people in a bad way, everyone deserves to be happy, and if some people don't like it, they just need to learn to tolerate.

Not directly but indirectly it's a message that homosexuality is okay in our culture. And statistically it has been proven with the number of homos have been increasing significantly in the last few decades. And I for one don't want to be hit on my gays anymore than I already do. It makes me feel awkward and angry. If ur a gay person reading this please next time have the courtesy to know who your trying to flirt with
I get to go to more weddings, that's about it... oh and I am slightly jealous as here same sex couples can have a civil partnership bit hetero couples can't. I'd much prefer to have a civil partnership than get married.
It affects me the same way a crime towards another person (that's not me) does... And homosexuality is a crime no matter how much they try to teach us otherwise..

Actually homosexuality is not a crime in the United States so what are you talking about?
I'm surprised S. Africa allows it... since they are.. well not very liberal... and very racist on both white vs black and black vs white. Also surprised its not allowed in Australia... always figured they were like the U. S but socialist.
I don't see the point of changing the definition of marriage for 3% of the total population. For years, marriage has been between one man and one woman and it should stay that away. There's no such thing as 'gay marriage' to me.
how dose gay marriage effect me it's weird to see gay people hold hands or even kiss each other on videos on YouTube and Iv had lesbian and bisexual girls online on online games like stardoll and vside try to perpresher me to be gay and when I said no they would get so mad they would curse at me and plus it makes me uncomfortable and gives me the creeps to see gay people hold hands and kiss in YouTube videos and I think marriage is ment to be between a man and woman
not affecting me at all... well aside from some close friends and even relatives who have been able to have the relationships recognized and legitimized in the eyes of the government

I don't want to see it in my everyday life. Public displays of affection annoy me, and that goes double for the fruitcakes out there. Same goes for some of their strange clothing choices.
In short, I don't want to see them, I don't want to know them, and I definitely do not want to talk to them. Instead there was a ton of people with nothing better to do than protest and make my morning commute unpleasant.
I know! People should have better things to do with their lives then be worried about other people's lives.

The whole point for marriage benefits is to encourage men and women to raise children in a stable home with both a father figure and a mother figure.
Tell me again how two men or two women getting married (and let's face it, they want it for the monetary benefits, not just for the warm fuzzy feelings) helps children grow up into well-adjusted members of society?

No straight couple has ever gotten married for the monetary benefits. None. Ever. Just gay people. Um, where have you been the last dozens of centuries. Also growing up under the banner of a straight marriage does not automatically equate to children being well adjusted memebers of society. Add to that, in this day and age, many people are raised in single parent, grandparent, adoption based, or under the rooves of other family and friend households. When a child receives love and support from his or her care givers, they tend to do well no matter who is at the heads of household. Once you just automatically hate gay people, it's hard for you to see past that, I get it. It's kind of like how people used to treat interracial couples. In fact, it's exactly like that, and yet here we are.
Good take! I never saw the point of marriage, but if straight people can do it then gays should be able to too! Most people are fine with gays though these days, next step is to legalize marijuana! Weed is kinda like being gay: it's been illegal for so long and people think it's bad because it's illegal but people are starting to realize more and more that it's not bad and slowly starting to legalize it. You should make a take "How would legalizing marijuana affect you personally?"

I support gay marriage. Everyone has the right to marry anyone that they chooses. Nothing stops true love!!!

It affects people because gay marriage is plain wrong and disgusting. Marriage should only be between a man and a woman, period.
Still doesn't affect you
Boo to you unpleasentruth
@CloroxBeach boo to me? For being normal by not supporting a nasty abnormality? More like boo to YOU.
I guess the truth is unpleasant, isn't it? XD
It ain't. If anything it's making it easier to spot gay guys so I don't accidentally waste my time trying to flirt with the cute ones.

My thoughts when I saw the map. ^

Why should it stay that way? Why not let that percentage be happy?
@Toad-1 Because the definition of marriage is between one man and one woman.
Says who? Why shouldn't it change?
Actually its only been the legal definition for a single generation...

I still am amazed that Australia hasn't legalized it, usually New Zealand follows them but we beat em to it this time.
I am still amazed that they annulled it as a first world country.

It's not. What you do is your business, and if you can find someone to be happy with? do it! cause this can be a lonely life.
the way i see it: if you're against gay marriage, don't get gay married.
(i live in Canada and marriage equality has been legal here for years)
I get to celebrate my gay friends and family's commitment to each other. That's it.
Though, to be honest, I'm not all that into marriage and especially weddings at all. But hey, kudos to those who wanna try!
