I've never seen a wedding picture where the bride is wearing something else than a dress. But I really don't like dresses, in fact I don't own any. A wedding is supposed to be one of the best day of their lives for the couple, but if I ever get married (I know if it happens it will probably be in a bunch of years), I don't think I could live this day to the fullest while wearing something I don't feel comfortable in. What do you think?

No, my mother married in a skirt with a jacket, signing a document in about 10 seconds. Anything extra is just to make you feel special.2

You don't have to, no. Here's some pictures of brides who didn't want to wear dresses:
It's a day meant to be about you and your partner. Don't wear something you're not comfortable in, just wear something that makes you feel confident and beautiful and comfortable and that's all that matters! :)1
