Is the American economy rigged to help the rich?

Seems Trump is achieving his goals to help the wealthy more than poor and middle class people.

  • Yes and Trump is making sure to keep that way with his huge tax cut for rich and appoint business people to exploit or take away government services and give to for profit companies.

  • No question. Trump is making many policies that make the rich very happy. They cannot stand him personally, but are enjoying the policies put into place.

  • Bill Gates is rich because hundreds of millions of people are rich enough to buy luxuries like computers and software. If he had tried that in the poor parts of the world, he would have gone out of business in no time. He got rich ONLY because people had plenty of disposable income to buy his products.

His stock went up for the same reason. Because tens of millions of people were rich enough to buy stock in Microsoft. People think stock trading is for the rich, but it's actually for the average person. The majority of Americans own stock either directly or indirectly through mutual funds, public retirement systems, etc.

The average American is rich. Look at the vast sprawling suburbs. Look at the 33 million cars that are less than 5 years old, or the 69 million cars that are less than ten years old. Look at how many computers, mobile devices, or big screen televisions people have. Look at the millions of restaurants and malls that are thriving.

In my lifetime, the standard of living for the average person has increased dramatically. If the economy is rigged against the average person, it sure isn't doing a good job of it. Because the average American is filthy rich compared to most of the world, or even compared to Americans a couple of generations back.

  • The dollar is a fiat based currency. This is a type of currency that favors the biggest spenders.
Subsidies are generally only available for big businesses, which primarely help the rich.
There are MANY more tax breaks for the rich.
Almost everything that helps wall street is specifically helping the rich.
Statistically speaking, it's been shown the economy is MOST helped by government spreading the most money across as many people as possible. (It's because as the money works its way up the financial ladder, it gets taxed each time it passes hands until it hits wall street which is tax free and the more its spent locally, the more likely it is to get spent again in short order). In short, a univeral basic income causes money to changes hands frequently enough to where the tax boost pays for itself. But it's not done. Instead we do all these different assistance programs that put the most money into corporate hands (which drops it almost immediately into the stock market) as possible. This is negative returns on federal investment instead of positive returns. Yet, it keeps happening, purely because it benefits the rich, and they lobby to keep it that way.

  • The only thing stopping you from achieving is you. You can believe the lies or you do whatever you need to too to succeed.

  • Seeing as my family escaped Hitler and founded thirteen thriving companies I'd say nope. Plus Trump's family trades in real estate. Since before tenants somehow gained the right to destroy your house and not pay you. On top of that, the only reason we have a homeless crisis is the fact we tax "rich" people too much. Meaning they can't afford to use labor here and outsource it.

  • No, naturally high IQ people tend to have a higher socioeconomic status and perform better in the U. S economy. Trump's actual effects on the economy have been negligible.
