My parents never gave me an allowance, gave me an opportunity to earn pocket money and prohibited me from checking phone booths for change, so I stole from them out of seeming necessity. This shaped my thinking concerning the property rights of others in a negative way.I shoplifted quite a bit in my youth until I got caught and was scared into stopping.I don't steal anymore and have done my best to make amends for everything I have ever stolen, except for one thing that I stubbornly don't want to return to it's rightful owner: A hand drawn Feynman diagram drawn by Richard Feynman himself in a copy of Quantum Electrodynamics a friend gave me to have autographed when I was taking physics classes from Feynman.Feynman only signed his name when I asked him to autograph my copy of the Feynman Lectures, and I coveted the Feynman diagram. So I told the friend I lost the book and he told me not to worry about it.For years I considerted it my most prized possession until about five years ago I realized it really doesn't belong to me.I've started to return it so many times but I always freeze. Maybe I'll do it today. For those of you who don't know who Feynman was, he's worth knowing about. https://www.google.com/search?q=Richard+FeynmanYears ago I did a reddit AMA about knowing him. If you find it you'll also find out what an incorrigible flirt and perv I can remain anonymous. ;)
Interesting thievery :)
Didn't return it yet.
One time I did on a dare. I felt really guilty about it after but some people I was hanging out with during detention in the cafeteria challenged me to steal popcorn for them. So I waited until the teacher turned around, dashed to the popcorn machine, and scooped up popcorn really fast into a bucket and ran back and gave it to them.I got some respect from that. I had a bit of a rep for being a goody two-shoes type (got detention from getting into a physical fight but it was very uncharacteristic of me to get in trouble back then). But I still felt so guilty about it afterward. I was really tempted to confess to the teacher that I took some popcorn.
I really did it ninja-style though and was cutting it so close. I had to dash right past the teacher while she turned her back without making a noise, and the popcorn machine was just a few meters from where she was standing.
Might have also been tempted a bit more than usual by the dare since I thought the girl who dared me was really pretty (in a troublemaking stoner sort of way) and maybe I wanted to impress her a bit.
Wow you’re such a nerd
Minor shoplifting, bras from JCPENNEY, assorted cosmetics from Macy's. Half pints of liquor and cigarettes from the liquor store by the projects. Seen a dope dealing neighbor hide something by his garbage cans. I snuck up to it stole what turned out to be his drugs cash and a 380.But that wasn't stealing, that was stopping crime in the neighborhood.
Until they kill you for revenge.
I have stolen over 500.00 worth of made in China booty from Walmart lol.I just steal things out of the rush of doing it, not so much because I can't afford it.I pretend I'm a spy - a dirty little thiefy spy...I stopped after like 20yrs old though.Kinda.Sometimes I just want to be bad...
When I was 14 I stole video games from a military base PX while my mother was in the Army. Not my best moment and caused us a whole slew of problems lol I was a good kid mostly, but I agreed to steal the games in exchange for this other kid to quit fighting me and getting us both suspended. He got me to agree and then had the MPs waiting for me. I never snitched though. I "owned up" to my actions by telling the MPs I just wanted to test their response time because I admire police. Bullshit of course but the MP was impressed enough with my answer to convince the PX to not press charges in exchange for me being banned from going to the PX without supervision for 6 months.
You would be lying if you say you didn't. We have all stolen something. Maybe not something expensive, but simple things like a candy bar or gum. My best friend friend has stolen some more useful things though. I just don't have the balls to take that risk.
I stole some Hubba Bubba Bubble Tape when I was two or three because my sister told me that her and I could each get a treat at the gas station. I didn’t know that my mom had to pay for items, so I didn’t put it up on the counter for the cashier. 😬
Mini Beanos from the '80s. I always liked retro tings even as a kid. They were in my primary school. My friend came up with the idea to each steal some of the mini Beanos, so I did. He did not. That pissed me off because I felt like a scumbag.Upside though, is that today I have.. three or four 1980s mini Beanos. They're reight cool.
Yep. I stole my sisters painting once. Dont worry she took it back and it wasn't out of malice but rather so i could hang it up. She stole a bunch of my clothes growing up and currently she stole, and still has, a blanket that my grandma knotted me back when we were in middle school. Im not taking it back though cus it smells funky and im pretty sure her and now ex boyfriend did a little something something on it so no thank you lol.
I stole obsessively in secondary school from my classmates, typically their stationary so nothing serious 😅 My Coca Cola pencil case couldn’t even zip fully, it was so full of stolen items 🤣When I was about 4, I stole a free Bananas In Pyjamas magnet from a magazine cover in a newsagent, that was the only time I “shoplifted” 😉
I stole a magic tree house book back in 3rd grade from the book fair at my elementary schoolI felt so guilty about, I went back, returned it and apologized. I ended up getting a week of detention! At the time I was angry, I felt I had done the right thing, and it was obvious I learned my lesson. There was no need for detention...
Back pack full of candy when I was a kid like 10 till we got caught. Then around 19 some stupid things like taking 2 18 packs of beer acting like I’m getting in line then.. Book it to the door.. Can you imagine.. I actually wound up getting caught somehow.. It’s been long a$$ time and I’ve never done anything else or planning on it.
Money. I was six, sleeping over at a friends house for her birthday. Her dad had a tub of coins in his room, and I stole about fifteen quarters. Guy was arrested last year for raping dozens of children— so I stole money from a pedophile. I guess kids just have some sort of sixth sense for that kind of thing. Haven’t had the urge to steal since, and never had it before.
Sweets in a shop when I was a kid.Later: I had sometimes compensated liabilities from others by... confiscating... goods/items in lieu. These were cases where binding agreements had been broken by 'partners'.Which, as a legal fact, was theft; but morally justified.
I stole little things from people when I was younger but I started to feel bad so I stopped that and started to steal from bigger places like wal mart where I figured it didn't hurt anybody but maybe some rich suits. I eventually got caught and my thieving days were over.
Yes I was 14 and I stole my uncles truck. Not really I just took it for a joy ride. Its a 1948 Chevy truck 4 speed manual trans. Totally awesome truck
This is a classy steal :)
I just love old cars
Hell no! I'd feel guilty for so long. I was raised right. My father was so honest that when I was little I remember him buying a bunch of stuff at the store and a tv was included in this purchase well they forgot to charge him for it and he went back in and paid after a store employee had already loaded it in our vehicle.
I got my mom in trouble at the supermarket when I opened candies & snacks to eat them while I opened boxes of toys just to play with them. I felt terrible for her.
Oh, and yes, I took the pen from the bank. I guess I'm a "bank robber" too! Lol.
Yup but i was 3 years old and didn't feel right afterwards so didn't repeat it since. It was very small theft, we had loaned some marbles from a toy loaning place, and i put 3 of them in my own marble can.
Yeah i stole 5 bucks from my dad's wallet when i was a kid. Then made the mistake of telling my sister who ratted me out, and i got my ass whooped for it.In hindsight 5 bucks wasn't worth a whoopin. I should have taken more. Lol
Yes, accidentally. I ft super bad and told om myself to my parents. Got in trouble pretty bad. I was a weirdly honest kid.
Me and my girlfriend at the time stole a bunch of stuffed animals from the crane machines at the mall. She was tiny and could get her arm up the prize door. As much money as they stole from me with that cheap shit I dont even feel bad lol.
Money and a few sets of my sisters underwear years ago.
Wow.. not sure it counts if you steal from family
Eh. I was a kid then did stupid stuff. I got stealing money again once.
hasn't everyone at sometime? As a kid, silly stuff like sweets etc. Probably some other stuff when grown up. Not often
I want to say no, but it’s just not true. And it’s only been like pencils and stuff and only on accident. And a few food items that were already paid for, not by me though.
Yes I did a couple of times when I was about 9 or 10 years old we were broke and had no money for food I stole a chocolate bar and a chocolate milk from the petrol station haven't stolen anything since
NopeI once misjudged someone. Thought she stole something when she didn’t. I’m REALLY sorry for that.
Yes, but nothing worth more and a dollar or so.I borrowed a tire and wheel off a used car in a lot but returned it with $20. That didn't legally negate a theft but it slaked off my guilt.
Yes I did. When I was 16, I stole money from my dad so I can go to a concert. He was furious. I was grounded for a really long time. That was the last time I have stolen anything I never like admitting until someone asked me if I'm stolen anything.
Tons of shit. In the grand theft range. I don't anymore though.
Back in the Day, Yes... But Now? God Has More of my Heart than I gave to Him from the Start. xx
I stole some lipsticks when I was 13 from this store. I felt so guilty about it when I got home that I went back to the store and replaced them. I am a sad, pathetic thief.
God the popo and fbi are really looking for criminals now aren't they. Guess they got nothin else better to do
Yes. I suffer from kleptomania. I just can't help myself. Most of the time I return the stuff. If I remember where I got it from.
when my brother and I were little we both stole Star Wars action figures from a dept store. I got princess Leia and he got Han Solo i think.
Never that I know ofEven that some guys accuse me of stealing there heart, but I think there just trying something shady
I was hella into shoplifting as a kid and teen. Top 3 picks Paintball gun, a 6 person tent and a whole wardrobe from JC Pennys ( Like 3 giant hauls of clothes ) . So lucky I never got truly caught
Nothing worth monetary value...Office supplies that were still boxed in the trash and left over from a department moving , a plaque that was in the garbage. I don't know if those count but 🤷♂️
I think so but it must have been very small things and a long time ago because I don't remember it. I don't like stealing at all, it's very dishonest and dishonorable.
I once stole a game from a friend of mine. Years later I found him and gave him ten bucks for it after apologizing profusely. It was after that I realized I should never try to steal anything again.
Yes I used to steal from stores with my friend during my childhood years. I lost tract of the times we got thrown out of the stores.
Nope weirdly never stolen anything in my life, which a lot of my friends find weird. Maybe I need new friends
Just a manga book. The store’s in another state now, though.
When I was 6 I took a lip gloss from flannerys and I still feel really bad about it.
And my Mum once told me to steal a coffee voucher off the top of a car. I feel bad but apparently I was really sneaky.
Not on purpose so I don't consider it stealing I forgot I had a backscratcher on me and walked out of target but I went back and put it back
Yes I got caught and got my ass beat. My mom whipped me like I stole something. Well I did but you know what I mean
Yeah one time and felt bad and got caught when I was younger but later on I stole from this dickhead and still dont feel bad about it but maybe I should
I stole a statue off a grave stone once. I also had a period where I would steal little things just for the thrill of it. Also dabbled in pickpocketing. I turned into a decent person in the end
only money from my parents - like a coin here and there. no more and never from anywhere outside
I have stolen anything. Not counting the heart I've stolen from my girlfriend
Tons of stuff, but only small things like candy and such, and never from private people.
I stole my brother favorite shirts and gave it to the less fortunate when I was 13. 🤭
I stolen my girlfriend heart... but I also stolen test answers
Ofc. Started with candy. Then I started stealing useless stuff just for the fun of it. Robed a junkie for 200€ . Cheap jewelry, a bike and cigarettes
I stole 2 pokemon cards when I was a kid. I feel guilty about it, but they were only common cards tbh.
I had stolen couple of toys from my school before when I was like 6 years old but eventually felt so guilty and brought them back
Sure lots of small stuff years ago. But I'm not proud about it. by the way haven't we all take a pen home from the office
Yes I have, but it's been food related most of the time. A handful of times it have been condom's.
I stole a pack of Skittles from a grocery store when I was 8.
We were piss poor when I was a kid. So if it was not nailed down I would have it
Never from a person but I have shoplifted in the past
I stole a pencil from a kid in second grade and it haunted me well into my teen years
When I was too young to know better, but it was from befriended kids, nothing serious.
