I got told by a friend that UK is one of the few counties that actually have charity shops. When I said about America having thrift shops they said they don't belive that's donation led. I just assumed that all countries have them? Is what my friend said true?

Also if anyone has been to other countries, I'm curious about those countries too
I would urge people to be very careful when giving to charity shops in the UK. I thought I was doing the right thing leaving in my old clothes only to find most of it on a shop employees personal buy and sell. And the biggest scandal is if the shop sold my items for say £200 only 5% £10 goes to the actual charity
I am aware of that and I do either try to find financial gain for myself by selling them or hand them down to people I know with same aged children but it doesn't always work so I find donating better than recycling or just throwing them away
Yeah same here, I go to the other ones for gifts, a bit of shopping etc if going on a walk I go done the street which has 15 and walk for a couple of hours and buy a bunch of stuff.
First i love ghostrider. Cool movie and cool character. Which only tells me you must be an awesome person and we might have similar interests. Secondly im starting to wonder and its eating me up inside. Lol
Maybe later in the month its been a hard couple of weeks and resorted to eating junk, which whenever I do my face breaks out 😅 But have a mum bod now as gained a couple of stones since my last pic on here, so don't expect too much lol

We have thrift shops all over the US. Lots of Goodwill outlets and Salvation Army stores and also locally run thrift shops that support various causes.

Most thrift shops are donation led. Two giants in the thrift shop industry are GoodWill and The Salvation Army.. Both places are very much donation led, and their funds go to support the homeless and other charitable things.

We do have them in the US we call them Thrift stores
A lot are religious like Salvation Army or St. Vincent De Paul but many are not. We also have salvage goods stores which can have good deals on non perishable foods
The US has several donation based shops. Goodwill and the Salvation Army are two of the larger ones. Several others are run by religious organizations throughout the US.
Well sorry for believing that all countries have a system to help the lessabled, I also like gumtree a lessor form of ebay and tbh a more preferable. If I believe everything is shit and there was no goodwill then that's a shitty place to live considering how much I've relied on the likes of charity shopping over the years
Therefore if you're dumb enough to not realise, don't worry I'll explain it to you. People when talking about monetary terms tend to use whatever they use like £ or $ or € or ¥. I know it may be hard to understand but it doesn't mean they think you're from that country
And so am IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII
You grow older each and every day maturity is a choice rather than a requirement, especially good with someone who seems to like trying to push buttons 🧐
It's shops that people donate old/unwanted items but in perfectly good working condition. The shops then sell those items on to create profit to give to their charitable need
