Maybe I don't understand how the points thing works, but when I go into the xper section, it says that if your question gets rated within a 24 hour period, it gets at least one point (it says a range of one - 5, so I guess that equates to the number of stars it gets). I imagine the best thing to do would be not to rate it at all, because then it falls into the huge void of questions that have also not been rated, and it gets lost forever. It's just sometimes I see a question where the user's question was rated 1/5, but they really did not even deserve the free point they got. Thoughts on this?

The points awarded are rather minuscule in the grand scheme of things, so I believe the bang is well worth the buck.
To average $20/week on this site, you'd have to answer 185-190 questions per day. Points are a joke and are in no way legitimate compensation. Our hours and input are worth far more than that.0
