I'm sitting in my local café and are thinking about how far Australian Football (soccer) has come since 2003. I mention 2003 because this was start of the Socceroos giant killing run towards the 2006 World Cup in Germany and beyond! In 2003 we embarrassed the so called "Mighty England" and continued our improvement in the world game right up to present day 2016.
Australia became a member of the AFC (Asian Football Confederation) in 2006 and are already dominating on the continent. At present, we are the "Champions of Asia" and intend on continuing to be a heavyweight in the region.
To the other competing nations at the upcoming 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup in Russia, you should be quaking in your boots because Australia doesn't fear anyone and have earned the respect we deserve.
The Socceroos have arrived on the world stage and we're here to stay!
Here are some snippets. Enjoy 😊

That 2-2 draw with Germany was a great feat.
Australia and Germany have had some great football battles over the years :-)
I think it will only get better from here. Australia seems like a national team on the rise. Is soccer the most popular sport in places like Syndney and Melbourne?
Yeah Australia is on the rise like the USA. Germany will always be heavyweights. Aussie Rules is the number one sport in Australia followed by football (soccer).
I should support my home nation but have always chosen the nation of my ancestors. Just feel the US has no passion for soccer and the lack of passion bothers me. Germany has passion and are so fun and creative to watch. The country lives for the game. Unfortuantely only have seen one live game in my life which was a Galaxy game. Americans generally prefer Football, Basketball, Baseball and Hockey to Soccer (Football). It's also kind of messed up we call it soccer. I think it should be called football but we call football that and I don't understand why football is called football because the only real kicking involved is on punts, kick offs and field goals. But yeah US is still on the rise a bit, their big goal is to reach a World Cup quarterfinal or semifinal.
