I don't like dogs. When I was very young and I played with a puppy but the mother got mad at me and tried to bite me hard. I still care remember to this day. So I don't like dogs. When I was in grade 1 I was scared of a puppy because I was afraid the mother would show up and try to bite me.
Do you dislike all humans because there are humans out there who could hurt you as well? I get how these things come about, but you should work on trying to fix this because your way of thinking is irrational.
@Kkaos Actually I have PTSD because I had a two guys want to get me with an axe and I had a woman tried to rob me with a knife. I don't trust people either.

It's funny you mention death and it's a valid point you made. I used to be afraid of death but it seems the longer you live, the more shit that's thrown at you, you realize that this life isn't all that great anyway and then death doesn't become so scary. If someone is afraid of death, they must be having a great life... But then how can it be great if they're afraid? Lol
I think if you had the opportunity to raise a dog from a puppy, you'd have a different view. I certainly don't trust other peoples dogs, however my own, I would lay my life on the bet that they would never once intentionally hurt me.
@Kkaos You're being biased because you're a dog owner. That's not being rational. There was a woman who had her ear bitten off because he was playing around. Plenty of times I read stories where a dog bite the crap out of a child. I'm tired of dog owners who leave dog shit everywhere in parks and crap.

How is that being biased? If anything my opinion is automatically more valid than yours because I have a lot more experience with dogs than you do. And yes, I have been bitten and attacked by dogs before. Any dog who misbehaves is the fault of the owner, not the dog. Both my dogs are part wolf and they're giant for God sake and they wouldn't hurt me one bit. I can't guarantee that they wouldn't hurt others, but that's why I keep them on a leash and locked up at night like a responsible owner.
Did I ever say that nobody fears something? Too dumb to be afraid? That's ridiculous. I'm not a kid and discrediting what I say because I'm younger than you is not a valid argument.

@Burpzzzzz I've had times when I've had no pets. Didn't feel lonely then. I got my dogs because I liked wolves and I enjoy having them around the house and caring for them. I'd certainly miss them if lost them, but then you'd miss anything that you care about.
@mullahstan Generally you'll find that people will give an opinion and then if people disagree with that opinion, they'll put forward their own opinion and discuss it... That's generally how things work.

I said I wouldn't need a pet in order to not feel lonely. That's the truth. You don't know shit about me, I'm an introvert, I rarely feel lonely. And yes, I would be upset if my pet died because like anything that comes into your life that you care about, it is upsetting to lose that. I already talked about that.

Apparently no one likes barking? The main thing the dog is supposed to do is alert you when someone's here.. by barking. I think if you don't have a yard or time to actually play you shouldn't have a dog. Asphalt makes their paws raw so I'm against walking w/o shoes. If you have an all day job then guess where your dog's stuck bored all day. One hour outside is not enough everybody.
Lol and the only nice cool cats I've met have been housebroken and free to be outside.
I guess this is where countries differ. Where I live I literally walk on tiles (sidewalk) for 5 min and i’m in a forest. Asphalt is different obviously, because it heats up. Tiles don’t, so walking dogs there is fine.
A big yard is def not a necessity to own a dog. What is a necessity, however, is being able to walk them at least three times a day and being home about 20 hours of the day.
You can't keep a dog on a leash outside all the time. Having a yard to run freely and feel home to keeps them from running away. I'm sure tiles are fine I can dig that. But pretty much every sidewalk or road is made from concrete, brick, stone anything hard for strength and rough for friction. See how you do barefoot for awhile on these surfaces. You'd lick your paws too. And your definitely right about how much companion time they need. A lot of people just get dogs to say they have one and pet for an hour after work before bed. Sleep. Then leave in the morning. Lol I just don't want to see one ignorantly mistreated by taking a walk

Yeah well since we have parks and forests everywhere that’s where I let my dog off leash. But I have heard it’s very different in america, like people don’t even walk their dogs everyday but just let them do their business in the yard? That’s very strange here.

No way dude. Cats are way better. They don't follow you around all the time, and they don't slump all over you. Cats keep themselves clean. They don't bark over nothing. Cats are better in every respect. If I could get rid of my dog I would.

Every search and rescue team uses dogs to save people... I never seen a CAt dig through rubble.
Cats are for people that want a pet but are too lazy and don't want to put in the time for a dog.
On the contrary, cats are excellent pets. I used to be strictly a dog person, but I've since come to realize that both dogs and cats are wonderful in their own ways. Dogs are good for unconditional love, companionship, and any sporting/obedience/work that they may be suited to. Cats are good for amusement, really. They make the funniest faces, especially when they play. Their meows are adorable and sometimes hilarious. And they do love their humans, although they may not show it in the obvious way like dogs do. And they're good for being low maintenance, if owners don't have time to go on several walks a day.

Not true. I like both dogs and cats. My cat was always at the door when I came home. It always wanted to be petted. Cats have also saved lives. There is a Putin’s pawsway where I live. They display stories of pets that saved their owner’s lives. There are many cats there.

Dogs are more loyal than people. They protect us... give us unconditional love... make us laugh... they can be your best friend. I love dogs.
I think people who grew up with dogs have a different perspective. To me, they were part of the family.
Dogs can be amazing at times, but also annoying. I have a trained German Shepherd named Marky Mark. We usually call him 'Marky' though. lol
