Who the fuck has ever been skinny shamed. The only comments about my body have been "omg you're so hot" or "you have the perfect body" or "what do you eat to stay so skinny". No one has ever said anything negative about it. But I have seen larger girls get bullied.
I've been skinny shamed and a few times from my family (though I know my family doesn't mean any harm). Either comments like "don't you eat?" Or "you're as skinny as a stick/skeleton!" "You're too skinny, it doesn't look good" and even "your whole body is just one flat rectangle"
@aes321 People are gonna be assholes, I get made fun of all the time, not by body necessarily but certain aspects of my personality and fashion. If they can see you're self-concious or something is a little unusual they'll attack it. It's easy to make fun of the petite girl because you stand out, not because you're skinny but because your body type is different. I know that sounds weird but it's more likely to do with your body type, similar to the tall girl, athletic girl or one with naturally curvaceous figure, as opposed to your actual weight. I'm pretty well proportioned and have a very 'average' shape so despite being very slim, so people can't really pick on me.
@Nxtawm Families have a tendency to do that. It's more of a care thing, especially if you come from an ethnic household. My nonna would constantly try to feed me, she wouldn't say I was ugly or too skinny but it is a weird cultural thing for some families. Also your families have a tendency to say things that are rather mean-spirited and nitpicky at times. My mother has been very harsh about my body in certain ways (like that I have a fat ass) but I know she's in some sense being an asshole for the sake of it/is trying to motivate me into exercising, but I wouldn't put this in the same category as fatty being yelled at you down the street or have people making pig noises at you.
I’ve been skinny shamed tons of times 2 examples are when was at my aunts her exact words were ‘your so thin, eat some food and maybe you’ll be beautiful’ other incident was at school I said I was cold and this girl said “maybe if you gained some weight you wouldn’t feel the cold you are literally just skin and bone” in front of the whole class”
Nice take But , it is the issue that in this era everything is taken to the extreme and it is changing what is good in the world I am always against this Idea of Thick curves, no just be natural , whatever your body is , you are beautiful , this is what men thinks like. Good JOB
Oh, I've been not only unhealthy and dangerously skinny but skinny shamed too by my parents mostly. It was their job to get me enough food and they have failed doing that. The worst part: I couldn't do anything about it then.
So now I'm working and eating like a horse. I eat twice the amount a regular human would! I also told my belts goodbye.
dude don't worry about X shame, Y shame, Z shame. its a bunch of bullshit made by insecure people to make other insecure people feel bad.
i'm a 6' dude at 132 lbs, i'm skinnier than all other guys even though i average 2200+ calories a day. honestly idc if a girl is skinny, i only care if she's unhealthily heavy. but, i can't say that my luck being a skinny dude has gotten me anywhere. don't worry about being skinny, you're a girl. leave that issue of being unwanted for skinny dudes
Good take. It's too bad that people can't just worry about themselves and bettering their self-esteem instead of crapping all over others and constantly comparing. It's important to remember that we cannot choose our genes, but we can choose to love ourselves, and we can choose to be respectful :)
If you have enough energy , patience will and understanding of how to train your body , then you have more willpower then me I respect you for that. 60 % percent of the world are LAZY little humans who cry when there play thing is broken. or when there bored and the internet is not giving them the time of day. They find other means to amuse them selves.
I LOVE extra thin girls. I hadn't heard about skinny shaming, only fat shaming. I wouldn't shame anybody, but an extra thin girl, with a flat tummy and just a hint of a butt, preferably with a tan and long blonde hair is my type.
I mean I definitely agree that this ridiculous behavior needs to stop but at the same time people need to man the hell up and ignore and even confront this prejudice.
But then I'm a hypocrite. Where I'm from being skinny has it's limitations as you lack a considerable amount strength so you're kinda useless.
I don’t believe in shaming anyone for their body type. That being said, I’ve had friends with true eating disorders. Some weighing less than 90 lbs (and no one should weight less than 90 lbs unless they’re less 5 ft tall).
Well I mean shaming in general needs to stop skinny or bigger hairy smooth we are all humans right your young but you have the looks going for you already
Yes, that is one of the most anoying things i know. I had one childhood friend who as long as i can remember has been skinnyshaming me, and oh god how large she was. I never said anything about her weight, but she was always saying how nobody can ever like me cuz i am skinny and i dont have "curves" or "boobs" and when she was saying these things i was like 10 xd
I find ''shaming'' of any kind to be utter nonsense. It changes nothing and no one, and only adds heat to emotions and interaction. I am allowed to like or not to like any detail that is relevant to me. But this does not mean that it has to be relevant to others. Some people never had learned to keep their mouth shut about things that aren't theirs.

No one who eats healthily and exercises regularly is skinny. By the way, skinny and thin are completely different things. People take offense in everything these days, but if I saw a skinny dog, I would think it’s not eating properly too. Wouldn’t you? Just common sense.

I also told my belts goodbye.
That's all i can say for now.
Those hurtful comments are not okay and obviously not true.
I agree
Guys can get skinny shamed, too, by the way. It does need to be stopped for both genders.
That’s correct, sorry that I didn’t made it clear enough on the Take
I was skinny shamed a lot by my creators and i know quite well what she means. 😫
Preach girl I'm always getting skinny shamed and made fun of for not eating all the time. Like some of us actually only eat our 3 meals a day.
Lol I guess some people just don’t get that

Skinny shaming just sounds like jealous people that can't get over their own bodily insecurities.
It does, doesn’t it?

Ah, another "shaming" epidemic society has to deal with huh.
Yeahh
