This summer almost here and well, we can just assume its summer based on the nice weather. It is nice to think about all the things we can look forward to this summer. And just because we had a rough start this year does not mean we can't make the best of it starting now. I am going to highlight key parts of things that we can all do no matter what happens this summer.
1. Summer is for water
We can encounter water anywhere. It does not need to be in a summer pool or at the beach. It can be right in our own backyards. Pull the slip and slide, inflatable pool, and water guns out of the garage and turn on the water hose. You can get very creative and have a lot of fun with just the spaces around your house. If more public places open up sooner than that's great too :)
2. Summer is for Camping
Camping can also take place simply in your backyard. Hopefully the parks will be open and will allow you to camp like normal but camping in your backyard is just as easy and memorable. You can get creative and fun with it considering you will also have access to electricity near the house. You can string up lights or pull out a projector if you have one. There are a number of options to have fun with and it's nice to just have a simple fire with marshmallows too.
3. Summer is for Sports and Games
This is something again that can be done at the house or if need be hopefully some form of social distancing at the park. If done at the house of course it might not be a full game of baseball but maybe something close to it. You could do a variety of games outside, including twister, horse shoes or volley ball. You could even play board games outside. This again where imagination and creativity could be very fun to use here.
4. Summer is for Friends
Everyone to some extent has friends and at least hopefully on here. But friends to just relax with and have fun with. To talk about anything and do just about anything with. It's just simply enjoying time with each other and being able to see each other closer with things and places opening back up. Simple quality time. This could also be extended to family as well :)
5. Summer is for Reflection and Relaxation
It kind of merges in with my last point. This is partly for friends and family too. It is a time to reflect where you life is now and where you would like it to be in the future. A time where you journal and take the time to consider if the current path is the right path. It's like that great moment in summer movies where you are both sitting on a pier talking and having a heart to heart conversation. But it's also about taking in some relaxation too. Enjoying the nice weather and just laying down in a hammock or on a towel to sunbathe.
I am sure there are many many many other things to do during the summer but those are hopefully all good options to consider that I pointed out :) This is a great time to plan out some things for the summer even if they are only happening in your backyard. But be careful as Linus notes "Summers Always Fly..."
