Why do I have an unusual accent?

I have an accent and I like it. But it's not from anywhere I've been. I lived in Canada for a while now, but my hometown is Armenia. Yet my accent isn't from any of those place. If I have an accent, why isn't it from neither Canada nor Armenia? And is this normal?

  • It might not be an accent, it could just be a speech problem and I don't mean that as an insult. I have a bit of an accent, I live in New York, but I'm from Chicago so I have a Midwestern accent. But I also have a speech problem (I had to take speech classes until fourth grade) so I have an accent, but it sounds a little different than your normal Midwestern accent because of my speech problem.
